Equalized exp gain in comparison to solo to prevent abuse. Basically two people teaming up and dropping Pidgeys like.. Pidgeys. For a looong time. It could encourage new players to stay through the beginning that might have otherwise given up and gone to.. well, no names but somewhere else. Not that I would personally, I love the look right from the start in comparison to others I've seen, and the lack of lag in my swag. Not to mention to inclusion of storyline details.
