Some critiques on this guide:

1.) Gyarados honestly is not a very good pokemon in any situation. Pretty much every rain team carries Kingdra as a special sweeper (sometimes Ludicolo which is just worse), and both carry a 2x resist to waterfall. Kingdra is particularly threatening since it can almost OHKO Gyarados with a specs draco meteor.

2.) Weavile should never have beat up it is worse than knock off. Also, practically every rain team carries Ferrothorn since rain reduces fire type attack damage that target its 4x fire weakness. Apparently iron barbs activate for every strike for beat up so I'm pretty sure taking iron barbs recoil 6 times is not fun. Also, both rain sweepers are able to outspeed and OHKO Weavile in rain.

252 Atk Choice Band Weavile Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Politoed: 195-229 (50.9 - 59.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

0 SpA Politoed Scald vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Weavile in Rain: 136-162 (48.3 - 57.6%) -- 94.1% chance to 2HKO

Weavile will lose to physically defensive Politoed (I'm pretty sure that's what most people run)

3.) Chansey does the job better than Blissey

252+ SpA Choice Specs Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Blissey in Rain: 274-324 (38.3 - 45.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Choice Specs Kingdra Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 252 SpD Eviolite Chansey in Rain: 183-216 (26 - 30.7%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

4.) Milotic does a decent job but I feel like Slowbro is better. It's able to switch in more easily on pokemon like Kabutops since it has regenerator, plus it has a better defense stat to synergize with Chansey's insane special bulk.

5.) Definitely add Ferrothorn to the list of rain stalling pokemon it's great against the special side, and destroys unboosted Kabutops.

252 Atk Kabutops Superpower vs. 252 HP / 88+ Def Ferrothorn: 162-192 (46 - 54.5%) -- 8.2% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Gastrodon is practically made to counter rain, it's ability is literally called storm drain. It's able to fire off rain/storm drain boosted scalds off and fish for burns on Ferrothorn, while pretty much walling all the rain pokemon, especially if running ice beam.

6.) Some more tips to remember:

Rain teams often have a bit of trouble with hazards removal, since a lot of hazard removers dislike having rain up. If running defog with pokemon like Skarmory/Mandibuzz, they'll probably have a hard time keeping hazards up on your side.

Rain can often be very predictable, since you know their general strategy is to set rain with Politoed and sweep with a rain sweeper.

Nice guide ty for the time to put this together!

Id like to second the vaporeon or gastrodon as solid counters to most rain sweepers and even drizzle toad himself.

Ive been playtesting with a bold vaporeon and it is incredibly handy to be able to eat a worry free scald with the only super threat of ludiculo which a strong blissey can stop with ease.

Ferrothorn is a strong wall as well and with gyro ball can be a pain for some of the rains sweepers.

Again nice job hope many players read this article^^

kabutops_and_politoed_brofist_by_keijimatsu-d36ulqu.png Ninetale and sun teams are naturally countered by rain teams

Not really, sun team are really dangerous for rain because

-sun mitigate the weackness of fire poke to water

-sun team carry chlorophyl sweeper that can OHKO almost all common rain pokes except kingdra

-ninetales is faster than politoed, so when they are both lead it's the sun that is set up
