--Played the yellow version as a kid and played all the way until gen 4, but lost interest because I never knew much about competitive play and PvE was very easy in the franchise. Got into playing online pokemon games because there was an active community I could visually see and play along with and the idea of buying and selling pokemon to other players was fun. Pvp reminds me of chess (albeit with luck through into the mix) and I love it for that.

-- My favourite pokemon has to be clefable. I loved clefable's sprite since gen 1 and, while it isn't true, I liked the idea of the duality between clefable and gengar (as in gengar is the ghost of clefable).
