Seems like tinypic (the site used to upload images for forum signatures) is shutting down

 

 

Is there an alternative way I can upload images in my signature? I tried looking for a thread that can clarify the ways to upload images in signatures but I couldn't find one.

It is sad to see TinyPic shutdown. Many well crafted guides on this forum used it.

 

I am not entirely sure what you are asking, but I use imgur.com for my forum signature. Once I upload the picture, I right click (or Ctrl+click for macs) the picture and select "Copy Image Address." It will then generate a link like this: i.imgur.com/4DSfvM6.png. It is very important that the image link starts with "i.imgur". I use that link as the image link since forum signatures do not seem to allow us to upload images directly from our own files.

Hey there!

 

No worries, this is exactly what I meant. I was asking what sort of links are we able to use in the "insert image" option since as you said we aren't able to copy paste images directly or upload from our files. I tried using imgbb.com links for example and it didn't work either. I tried out the imgur upload and it worked just fine! I was hoping there would be a thread or something to help people figure out what sites they can use to upload their signatures especially since tinypic has shut down and that was the recommended site to use before.

 

Now we know that imgur works perfectly! Thank you very much :)

 

On a side note, do you have any idea why we can't directly upload images to our signature? It would be much more convenient if we could, rather than using a third party link.

I apologize for the delayed response, @XanthinaRose.

 

Great question, I am curious as well. After talking with a Forum Admin, I learned PRO forums use Xenforo. Xenforo does not provide an option to allow you to upload images from your computer on signatures. I am not sure why Xenforo does not provide this option. Unfortunately that does not fall under the scope of help I provide. Sorry I could not provide a more definitive answer.
