So I'm certain this has obviously been talked about at some point before but I just wanted to know what everyone's thoughts were on implementing tiered matchmaking into pro?

 

Upside: makes many many more pokemon pvp viable, inherently adds a degree of balance to pvp, you can experience multiple metas rather than just a singular stale one.

 

Downside: likely longer que times?

 

Personally I think it needs to be done. Though I'm not sure how difficult it would for the devs to actually make this adjustment to the matchmaking. I mean really all they have to do is set up separate selectable ques and the rest can just simply be policed the way pvp is policed now.

Not enough player base

As Allsmell said: it would be healthyy and fun for the game, but the playerbase is small right now (not big enough, because it's really big, but to get into PVP you need to put a lot of work in it). However, I'd +1 this.

Well since its sorta speculation at this point the impact it would have on wait times, what if we had a community vote for a TRIAL basis? A week, a few days, whatever.

 

If the wait times are completely unbearable we scrap the idea, pending a rise in player base at a later date.

 

I think it's at least something to try and work towards.
