So I finished the quest beated horon got the halloween rapidash mount and still cannot do the quest can someone help me 

I did catch darkrai have it in a box

yet still cannot do it

Do I need it in my party

 

Umbra where I did beat the darkrai in the building I did not see any npc named umbra

 

is it the darkrai?

Apologies for the inconvenience.

 

As mentioned by Sting, you will need to beat the NPC umbra in the dark realm, which is the mega-gengar. This step is necessary for the gengarite quest since Umbra is the focus of this quest. Considering you've just progressed through the Dark realm and fought Horon, here's what you will need to do : 

 

1. Wait for Horon to re-appear. He will be back in the Dark valley 3 days after you beat him. 

2. Beat Horon with no fainted pokemon and you'll have the opportunity to access the dark realm again since Horon can reset the dark realm. 

3. Return to Alucard castle and fight Alucard with a pokemon with miracle eye. You will find yourself in the dark realm once again 

4. Proceed through the dark realm and defeat the mega gengar in 3 turns. Here's a guide if you need help on his location or on how to beat him. 

5. Be sure to recruit all the pokemons available (Clefairy, growlithe, alolan-rattata, marowak). They will be extremely useful for the gengarite part, this step is optional but strongly recommended. Otherwise you will most likely need to return to the dark realm for a third time.
