I bought the tree axe to use to cut down trees however it is not working and says a pokemon must have cut.

Did u have Hm cut?

Do you have HM-Cut? if yes, press spacebar infront of the tree, it should work.

It doesn't say that anywhere I've looked. Well guess it's time to see if they can refund it then.

The point is that you don't need to teach it to a pokemon to use it. Selling items to bypass the quest line is silly.

the tool is a CONVENIENCE item. it basically means you dont need to teach a pokemon the move. You still require the actual HM item. there is no paying for shortcuts on this game.
