detective basile no longer appears in the forest

I had started to do the baby lugia mission and the detective took me to the forest, before entering the tree, I went to levear treekos and get the metal coat, when I came back I was no longer in the forest, only at the entrance of murky town but it does not advance again to the forest, I need help before the event ends please.

I would like to confirm that the first part of the quest can only be done at night(8PM-4AM Poketime). Detective Basile will reappear when it is night-time.
