I'am stuck trying to beat Giovani in the Team rocket hide out. It seems just impossible as I can't even get through his first pokemon. His rydon out speeds everything and his drill run just one hit kills every pokemon on my team...I literally haven't even landed a single hit on his first pokemon! Unless I wanted to have pikachu do a quick attack but thats pointless :Angry:

you can use Magnemite with sturdy ability + thunder wave to decrease speed of Giovani pokemon

Thunder wave isn't going to work on a rhydon...

what is level your pokemon? maybe u can try to train grass or flying pokemon to kill it

They are all in their high 30s. I have a gloom but it gets outsped and gets knocked out in one hit. I have a pigeotto but wont drill run work on it too?

 

What level are my pokemon supposed to be?

i had the same problem ! I stopped playing for a month cuz all my poke died to giovanni.

 

there is what i did:

get the old rod in vermillion, fish a magikarp, train it (dont evolve to xp faster in digletts cave) and evolve it around level 50

 

Good luck if you choose this way, it looks boring but its part of the game ^^

I know the feeling, at the beginning this game feels really tuff.

The only solution to this is grinding, you need to lvl up your pokemons, which you have already probably evolved, and if you did, you shouldn't have done so.

Evolved forms of pokemons require a LOT MORE exp to lvl compared to non-evolved forms, this is why, i guess, you're struggling so much.

 

Don't give up, it's perfectly doable, just keep trying and keep lvling your pokemons. I hope this helped, wish you luck! :y:

Im currently preparing for the S.S Anne trainers,and than Lt Surge,but i already have a level 32 squirtle and mankey,a level 25 snubbul,and a level 20 Geodude,so you need to prepare,this game is harder,than any other pokemon game I played.

As other users have pointed out, you'll have the most success by using a water Pokemon against Giovanni. Gloom, or any other grass/poison Pokemon, won't work because of their weakness to ground. The water type will also help you in the future for when you have to square off against Blaine for the 7th badge.
