It says Lvl.??, it could be LvL.1000.

It's not even close to beeing impossible. Every gym leader has Pokemon lvl ??? just so you cant scout their lvls. If you can't beat him its your own fault for beeing under lvlt or having bad or the wrong pokemon

The level is just hidden, it's like that for everyone in all gyms.

 

Just level up 15+ sort of area, and catch suitable pokemon, such as grass and water types

From what I heard,which may be false or true. The ??? is supposed to be the number of the (gym X10)+5 or something like that.So basically for the first gym you would need atleast lvl 15 pokemon,and then lvl 25 for the second gym and so on.

If you have Charmander/Charmeleon, level him up to level 17. With Dragon Rage is really easy beat gyms (yes, gymS, at least until the 4th. Was easy for me)

I ll agree with others . Try to lvl up charmeleon ( if you picked him up ) till dragon's rage move .

 

Or try to catch mankey , poliwag and lvl them up a bit .

 

Just for your information , gym leaders have their own unique play style and pokemons .
