I made a site for Pokémon players and would love your thoughts on how to improve it!

Featured Replies

Hey everyone! 😊

I recently created a site called WePlayOld.com, aimed at helping Pokémon players understand some of the more detailed mechanics of the game, like movement, power scaling, and other fun stuff. My goal is to make it easier for players to learn and improve, whether they're new or just looking to dive a bit deeper into the game.

I’d really appreciate any suggestions you might have on how I can make the site better. Anything you think is missing, or features that would be helpful for Pokémon players? Any feedback is super appreciated!

Thanks so much for your time, and I hope you find something useful on the site! 🙌

This is amazingly done, great job! I really like the statistics graphic chart, I've never seen anything like that before. The easy to use interface is very clean and fits the aesthetic for a pokemon info website.

I have done a very small amount of web design so I have a little bit of knowledge for design tips/recommendations.

One suggestion I can think of is having a welcome/home page that has a small welcome message & a description about the site.

The home page could have all the pages spread out (or the main pages) with pictures for each page. For instance, have the words "pokemon" for the pokemon page, you could have an image of some pokemon, then have something for "evolutions" and have an image of a pokemon at each evolution stage.

tldr A main landing page with pictures used to navigate to each page, keep the nav bar on the left once you're in one of the pages.

I will be bookmarking your page and referencing it now! Once again great work. :)

Thank you so much! Really appreciate the kind words and feedback 😊 I love your idea for a visual landing page—it would definitely make the site more welcoming and intuitive. Gonna look into adding that for sure.

Hey @Weplayold ! Nice job, the site looks really cool. I didn't get really deep for now but i really like the pokempon info page. All is there and in a simple comprehensive way. Will try to use the site a bit more next day and will give you my thoughts!

Oh this is beautiful. Clean design, user friendly, and I am love how easy to read and follow the information. Also mad props for the statistical information (looking at you 'min-max'). Very well done.

I just saw your website, I also quite like it.

I found just one little mistake:

By resistanc and weaknes there is no 4-times weaknes (Gyarados is shown as 2 Times weak against electric) and imunitys (Gyarados is shown as taking 1/4 dammage of ground attacks)

Also maybe having the Resistances and Weakneses displayed in the comparison could make that a better tool, so I can see e.g that Mega Evolved Gyarados gets more strengh but goes from resisting fighting to beeing weak to it. That is often an important aspect when choosing between Pokemon.
