Accidental pokemon trade to region locked, can't get it back

I tried to trade evolve my clamperl level 97 from sinnoh with someone who hadn't finished that region and now it's locked until they finish it. The weird part is that i didn't get the usual message when you try to trade a pokemon from a region they haven't completed yet. So i was wondering if there's a way i can get it back so i don't have to wait for them to complete it since they were still in johto and i would have to wait too much.

My in game name is jesco6 and their name is Dclass.
