"Player Introductions and Partings" isn't meant for questions about PvP/gameplay. :) Anyway, I suggest starting with this guide here. After you've read through and familiarized yourself with IVs, EVs, natures, and different roles Pokemon play (e.g. glass cannon Pikachu vs. physical tank Slowbro), you can head over to Smogon.com and look up competitive builds for specific Pokemon.
