I just wondered about the right Moveset for my Moxie Gyarados.

 

Atm I run: Dragon Dance, Earthquake, Crunch, Surf

 

So I know that Surf isn't that great since it does spatk dmg.

Can anyone tell me what I can take instead of Surf ? I thought about something like Waterfall, but since it isn't available by now I'm still missing 1 skill :(

 

Any suggestions ?

You can replace surf with aqua tail.

Is there a tutor for Aqua tail ? I couldn't find one actually

Gyarados learns aqua tail at level 35. If yours is past 35, you should be able to get it at the move relearner in saffron city.

I run the same moveset as you apart from the fact that i have aqua tail instead of surf (y'all talked about this earlier) and instead of earthquake i run ice fang. I know it's less stronger but it has a chance to freeze ur opponent so i think it's worth it.

1. dragon dance

2. aqua tail till we get waterfall

3. earthquake to counter electric switch ins like magnezone or lanturn (if im correct u outspeed all available electrics at +1 DD)

4. ice fang takes care of grass type switch ins like tangrowth or venusaur and dragon types like dragonite or garchomp

5. bounce

Taunt, that walls dont cripple u,while sweepin. O_o
