Yea u could go with various ways with Blastoise however like Futz said that is the most common way. Once megas are implemented you can expect some people to go with some in spatk considering its high base stat while also having an amazing ability named "mega launcher"

thanks for ya ideas blastoise is one of my fav pokes theres just so many ways to run this guy i like to hear how diffrent people decide to set up this bad boy but out of those two options i put out witch sounds better but without considering the rest of the team

You could max out hp and def and store the rest in spdef since blastoise only has a base stat of 85 spatk I believe "Which is kinda low"
