It appears that you have followed through with the option that the NPC gives to swap your Chesnaught to a different one after you had used the items on the original Chesnaught. Unfortunately, I am unable to assist with the retrieval of the 10 Fire Gems, 10 Metal Coats, and 10 Steel Gems as the NPC gives the following warning dialogue: "You will need to catch another Chespin, train it and give me the materials to do an armor that will fit it". So to continue forward with this quest, you need to use the Bold Chesnaught (ID 86233969) and reacquire the items. This items can be found in the following ways: Fire Gems Diggable Patches - Route 15 Purchased from the Artifact Maniac Haster in the Historical Site (Excavation) for 30 Artifact Points each. Potential reward from Xylos NPC boss Purchasable from other players via Trade Chat. Steel Gems Diggable Patches - Route 209 Purchased from the Artifact Maniac Haster in the Historical Site (Excavation) for 10 Artifact Points each. Metal Coat Held by the following Wild Pokemon: Bronzong, Bronzor, Magnemite, Metang, Pineco, Scyther, Skarmory, and Steelix Purchasable from PvP Master (Vermilion City, Olivine City, Mauville City, and Canalave City) for 5 PvP Coins each. Purchasable from PvE Master (Celadon Department Store 4F, Goldenrod Department Store 5F, Lilycove Department Store 2F, and Veilstone Department Store 4F) for 10 PvE Coins each. Purchasable from other players via Trade Chat I realize that this may not be the answer you were looking for but I hope this information provided you guidance on how to progress the quest.
