Some times when the game crashes/stuck, you might lose your a bit of your progress. Keep in mind that game is in BETA and crashes can happen any time. No you cannot take off item from pokemon locked. You will be use it again when you get 8 badge in Hoen

It only cause by server stuck time. The next reboot will solve.
