Yes, you can catch Gothita in route 37. The price of the Pokemon depends on the IVs/Nature/Ability of the Gothita. Gothita is a really rare Pokemon to find, and from what I have seen, there seems to be a huge demand for Shadow tag bold Gothita.

To be engaged in non-ranked PVP, as you said, you have to right click on someone and battle ( /battle playername)

Welcome to PRO! And no, the loading map issue isn't a common issue. It started a day ago, as there is something wrong with the map server, but it's being looked into and will be fixed for sure.

Even though if your friends are using high level Pokemons, if they go against low level Pokemons (e.g. like the start in Johto), they won't get much.

Seems like you got rollback-ed. I'm sorry for your loss, but unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about it. Next time, I advice you to re-log to force save the data of your game play, just in case the server crashes and you lose something valuable due to rollback.
