Wasn't the limit 8k before the NPC no longer counts them? I forgot, it has been a long time. Either way, for me the NPC already no longer count my points because they're too many to be counted. I dont even know what NPC you referring to :)

From my experiment, you get your money back or even profit with sellables @ Item Maniac alone. I may have been somewhat lucky with the item drops, so it may well be a waste of money but it's more about the waste of time for me. It's also frustrating for those who started excavating recently (like me) not being able to obtain certain fossils and rare Pokemon just by smashing rocks. Most importantly Pawniard as it is not farmable & is a good PvP Pokemon. Same with Kabuto & Omanyte. It feels unfair. It is annoying that I cannot get them anymore, I spent way too much cash/time to get to Excavation Master.

I am not sure what they did but they changed something about the Excavation sites. The change was in my opinion pretty much pointless and these sites are totally not worth the cash now.

And about u, sorry but I prefer to speak with adults who talk with constructed sentence and arguments. I prefer a forum with new discussion and not the same stuff all over again. :) AND about your constructed arguments, well I don't see them, I only see someone who is not willing to pay a high price for something.
