If I understand correctly: It cannot be changed because it has been that way at the beginning? And if it's changed now, it would be unfair to those who farmed in early days?

It's not a map problem but a graphical issue. Install your latest graphic card drivers and be sure you are playing on a capable PC. Moreover, try to disable Detailed Lighting, Weather and to Limit FPS from the Graphics option menu. And set a low resolution (like 800 x 600).

It's what I said: Why 8 times more common? (By the way, saying 800% more makes it feel like a big deal, I prefer 8 times). So... Why 8 times, why not 16 times or 4 times, or 32 times more common? And talking about changing to balance the odds... Even Nintendo made shinies twice more common (200% more common), to the rate for 1/4096. Why is our rate here engraved in stone?

Well... Where does 1/1024 come from? Why not 1/512 or 1/2048 ?

Seriously. Just read again what you have said: After 20 Swablu per day, during one month, it makes you 40% chance to get one (a bit more if you do it everyday, though). And you call this rare? It's not a challenge, it's almost impossible for any player to get one. It's inhuman to ask someone to farm 20 hours a day for one month just to get one Christmas sprite! If all Pokémon had Xmas sprites, it would be okay, because actually, we are finding shinies, but it's just the already rare Pokémon. You don't get your 20 Swablu in 6 hours playtime, you get them in more than 12 hours playtime! I know no one asks players to do it, but some of us are so much attached to the game that they want one really hard, and are ready to invest more time on it than they would do in a daytime job... But yeah, we have no lifes. Let's just be frank to each others and to the devs: the 800% more chance than a shiny is just an arbitrary rate! An arbitrary decision, and it doesn't mean it's the right probability to code in the game, every game developer knows that what he thinks is good isn't always what the gamer community appreciates; we do not ask for 1/20 like clones, and we do not want 1/8192 like shinies, we just ask for something calibrated to find a balance between challenge and fun. However, I belive I understand where the 800% (8 times) more than a shiny comes from: Maybe from the fact that there are usually 8 different spawns in a map. That would make sense… and it would give the same probability to find one shiny "of the species you want"; only if the spawn rates where all equal. But in this case, the Pokémon we want in Xmas edition are rare, far more than any other in the map. And it's why I think that it is important to calibrating the probability. Sorry for the long post. tl;dr Please, find some balance between rarity, challenge and fun. Edit: By the way: Getting 1024 Swablu doesn't give you a 100% chance to find one; but only 63% to find at least 1 (cf. Poisson distribution but I might be completely wrong).

Don't worry, I perfectly understand how it works :Smile: It's why I said that Xmas Eevee and Swablu are so hard to get! I know the map is the same; heard it from All chat. But weren't there points to get gifts and things like this, on last year's event?

Vulcan Island was good, do you think the same? There was a relatively long quest, there were two bosses and side-quests (with Summer Points), trainers with high level, etc. We all understand that staff is under pressure and needs time to do things well. So why not bring back some things from last year's event? Or all the event? I think it's no shame.

By the way, some routes in the range 201 to 230 exit in the game, is 4th Generation coming soon? How about Orange Archipelago? Valencia Island? I'm getting hyped!

Hello, Yesterday, I have finally received the 2DS pack I preordered on Amazon. It comes with Pokémon Sun installed. Therefore, I was wondering if there were things I should know or do to get the best out of it. Since it is the first time I play an official Pokémon game (since Pokémon Red on emulator back to early 2000's). Can those of you who played the game give me advices and tell me what are the things that I should absolutely know to play well the game? Thank you. The 2DS:

I agree. We 1/1024 chance (800% being 8 times more and shiny being - presumably 1/8192) on Pokémon that are fundamentally rare. There are actually around 5 Xmas Eevee on Red Server; and I can assure you that almost all players are hunting it. Swablu is rare as well and I have seen only two Xmas editions of it around. We are starting the 5th day of the event. Clone had 5% odd (1/20), and it was hard to get them. We are like... running for 50 clones of the same Pokémon, now!

You find it in daycare; if you don't have access and want to get it, look for Daycare quest. If you're just interested in the move, buy Eggmove service (20 k$ or 25 k$ per move) from your fellow players. If you are in Red server, you can contact me; else just post in Trade chat saying that you need Eggmove.

Check if Eggmove Tutor can teach it Moonblast.

It would be good to have preview of mounts in coin shop (like we have for cloths). I would like to buy a Draginair mount but not sure how it looks like (if someone can show screenshots ^^).

At first clone event, we had Bulbasaur at route 3, Charmander at route 25 and Squirtle at route 12. Since clones have [almost] the same spawn rate, why make it almost impossible and super costy to get a clone bulbasaur? Concerning Eevee, I can understand, since it's only available in Safari and all its evolutions are Safari exclusive.
