  1. It's not purely cosmetic, because some Pokemon's evolutionary paths are affected. "B-but you can implement the request if you just filter out those Pokemon!" It's not a sensible request, because it involves effort for something the staff would likely agree is completely unnecessary. "But m-muh preferences!" Just deal with it.
  2. Have you tried not being s.exist?

  4. People usually ask these kinds of questions in General Game Talk. This subforum is mostly used for help with general game errors/functions.
  5. At some point in this thread, someone may or may not advise that you make a completely new account if you're not satisfied with your base avatar anymore. I'm face-punching that person in advance. At the moment, that's your only option, but that doesn't mean it should be. That isn't a solution, it's a work-around. As a matter of fact, this would be a great opportunity to introduce another money sink for in-game currency.
  6. This is the wrong subforum to post questions like that.
  7. I just claimed this could be alleviated by raising the price of TMs in return for unlimited uses, but okay. Uh, what? That statement is untrue; there's no MONETARY economy, but Pokemon and items do hold value. Ever heard of a little mainstay called GTS? If you didn't know, it stands for Global Trade Station, and it's where you trade one thing for another. That's basically the definition of economy. Much like most MMOs, but for different reasons, the handheld economies are arguably better when they're fresh compared to later on in its life when people can just "print" money (Pokemon) by cheating. If you ignore that one completely unnatural element, it's pretty clear that the handhelds do have a form of economy.
  8. Chrono Cross isn't accessible, is it? If not, then the only Pokemon in all of PRO that we don't have complete information on is Frillish (unless I'm missing something). We're almost up to date! I want to show my appreciation one last time for everyone who contributed again, whether it was only one small correction or a ton of data; no one made you help, but you did anyway, and for that you have my utmost thanks. Together, we've accomplished something for the good of the community. And now I can focus entirely on formatting, so expect some aesthetic changes next!
  9. Do you think that how TMs are currently obtained is anything other than "easy?" There's a clear distinction between annoying and difficult, and TMs are currently the former--and only when you have to backtrack to a Gym in another region to stock up. If your argument was that it's a better money sink, then that wouldn't lend itself to debate, but you didn't use that as your point at all. Note that, by pointing this out, I'm not saying I think they should be more difficult to get. It's possible to make TMs infinite use and mark up the prices so that they still function as a money sink. In addition, your whole "this is an MMO" logic doesn't fly when the handhelds are simple MMOs nowadays, you just don't see the other players' avatars walking around and you don't communicate with them outside of microphone-enabled battles. You can trade items and Pokemon, grind, compete, and do most of the same stuff you already do in PRO, minus a couple of garnishes.
  10. Thank you so much for your help!! One small request though: to make adding this to my guide simple, would you mind also tagging Pokemon by how they're encountered? For example you already use C for fishing Pokemon; I'd like you to separate walking Pokemon and surfing Pokemon too. If you do, I'll update the guide right away and credit you by name for your extraordinary contributions.

  12. Oh! Sorry, it's hard to concentrate when you're breathing down my neck so loudly. Well, all I can say is it's not my job to define or argue his/her position for him/her; I'm not the original poster and I don't necessarily agree with the core suggestion at this time. Don't mind me, I'll wait until Phunny has a chance to speak.
  13. No, I understood the central message, but a whole is not greater than the sum of its parts; one of yours was broken. Did you really have to space everything out and stretch the page? Then double post? Thanks for bumping my friend's thread, but I really wish you would've condensed it into neat paragraphs. I'm also incredibly satisfied with the personal reaction and kneejerk conclusion that I've never dealt with a player-run economy before--I kind of get off on it. With that, I know exactly the kind of person you are, so you'll probably be surprised to hear that I'm not fundamentally disagreeing with your message, if you'd just let me clarify before you have at it again. Yes, eventually players can and will monopolize any free player-run economy; the most important word in that sentence was eventually. It's actually even possible and likely that there are already small monopolies, as you've stated. I'm not disagreeing with that. Granted, you're making it seem a lot easier than it actually is at this point in PRO's economic development; the economy is still very young, and it takes a lot of money to buy out all of your competition and efficiently monopolize. Once any monopolies considerably pervade throughout the macroeconomic level, his calculator will inevitably be bound by those forces. It's also worth pointing out that the title itself states "Mostly for Fun." Either you missed that as you leaped at the chance to flex your MMO economics degree, or you noticed and wanted to point out something self-evident anyway.
  14. Okay. Why? All of that is no better than an auction house if you don't actually present an argument of when, why, and how an auction house is objectively damaging and then successfully defend it.
  15. I'm sorry, did you just imply the actions of ONE outlier's sale systemically pervades throughout an entire economy? Because in your example, it's just one person, and if so, it discredits the entire point you're trying to make. It takes much more than one person to permanently influence an economy like this one. For having played with markets before, you couldn't have chosen a more incomplete example, which puts all of your logic into question. Consider this: Like money, Pokemon are a resource and the seller that sells for cheap will not always have them in stock. You said everyone buys from that seller, right? That means the demand increases for those Pokemon sold by that seller; now a sizable number of buyers are now competing for these cheaply market-adjusted Pokemon, of which the seller only ever has a limited amount, looking for deals. Naturally, the price increases because buyers are much more likely to outbid each other at lower prices (I refuse to use a citation for what should be common sense here). The point at which most buyers choose not to compete for the Pokemon is probably around whatever the average market price for that Pokemon is at the time. For numerous reasons, not all buyers will absolutely drop out there, and any that don't will raise the bid for that Pokemon even more. At any point down the relative line of cheap/average/expensive, the Pokemon is sold. Once the person doesn't have that specific Pokemon, what now? Buyers have no choice but to wait or purchase from other sellers, whose prices can and will vary, thus reinforcing those seller's prices within the economy on an individual level. That's the other side to the coin which you've completely neglected, and both sides certainly influence the economy to an extent on a microeconomic level... but microeconomics are not the same as macroeconomics, and you're clearly conflating the two in your example.
  16. Updated! Thanks for all the corrections. Don't worry about double posting, it's fine. Some of the things you said were missing are there and correct according to you, for example Poliwag's time of day in Grass and Swamp and Magikarp at Bond Bridge. You might have skimmed over them.

  18. Uh... what? You didn't offend me. I just think your "suggestion" is terrible because it's an opinion and it doesn't actually affect gameplay. You want to tailor the game's aesthetics to suit your own personal tastes, but aren't providing anything logically substantial for your argument. That is why I'm opposed to this. Sorry for the confusion.
  19. Johto and Kanto (excluding the Sevii Islands) are now complete, except for the time of day data of Swablu and Roggenrola.

  21. That's a sweeping generalization. I do agree some players have that effect at times, though (including staff).

  23. Any help is welcome and greatly appreciated! The missing Pokemon on Route 12 has been eluding me and everyone I've asked for some time, if you'd like to look into it.
  24. This is awesome. It's reasonably in-line with my own personal experiences in Trade, and that's good enough for me.
  25. I mentioned this in the original thread, but for those who may have missed it: once I complete the Sevii Islands, I'll format everything so it looks nice. For now, use Ctrl-F if you don't see it right away... I used as few spoilers as possible specifically so you can Ctrl-F through the regions and find whatever you need quickly. Membership only in that location. Thanks. I'd like to include rarity, but it'd be waaaaaay more annoying and difficult to find out precisely; according to the post you made which detailed them, PRO has an arguably excessive number of levels of rarity. The best I would manage without losing my mind is probably a very general rarity (something like Very Rare - Rare - Uncommon - Common). I'll consider working on this once I complete Sevii. Thank you everyone for your interest and support.
