  1. Congrats dude for being able to point it out two days after I've wrote it AND one and a half day after you edited it... By the way, your idea makes sense now, I may try this out some time.
  2. Who the heck was talking about switching to 3D? I never wanted PRO to become 3D in any way, sorry if I wasn't clear... But if you increase the size of the texture file the tiles use you can squeeze more details and smoother lines into one tile, that's all I was saying. I'm glad that it's on the schedule
  3. Why? You should be prepared for the E4. If you fail, it's obviously because you were not prepared. You may consider this as the E4 refuses to battle you again until you become stronger.
  4. On the other hand, these players will disappear after they beat Johto E4 because they don't have the creativity and the perseverance to keep on playing and hunting rare Pokes. So this could be a good thing. It cleans the game faster.
  5. I still think that the game could profit form higher resolution tiles and sprites. And it wouldn't be that hard to do it either. Sure, server cap and stability are more pressing issues, but completely dismissing the idea is just not right.
  6. Sidenote: Due legal reasons no Pokemon MMO can ever leave "beta" phase, or it would be considered illegal immediately. Hence PRO is called "beta" while it is not more in beta state than any big titles on their official release day. And be strong guys, PRO will NEVER leave the beta pase. Even if it would have all six generations and more, even if it would run flawlessly for weeks, it would still be called beta. So arguing with that the game is still beta is a very poor argument.
  7. Re: Optional game rule to make the game more Challenging <r><QUOTE author="Kyl3xPro2"><s> </e></QUOTE> that was the longest phrase I've ever read. And I've read it three times. And it still doesn't make sense...</r>
  8. On this map, if you enter any of the ruins east from the docking ship, when you exit you appear at the exit of the easternmost ruin. Not sure though it could be WAD.
  9. I won.
  10. Ladies and gentlemen, PRO for dummies. Seriously, this tutorial holds your hand form step 1 to the end. The only thing it does not tell you is what move to use in what turn in a gym battle. Seriously, I'm sad that this tutorial was needed to be written because players can't use their brains any more...
  11. Well as most of the game is already established, I don't think it would take that much time any more. It's always easier to upgrade or further develop something than creating it from scratch, that's why I said 20 hours.
  12. Actually a tile graphics upgrade wouldn't be THAT difficult. I mean comparatively to other upgrades. You increase the size of the tile files to double, so every tile would have 4x its original size. It shouldn't take much to redefine the game how to get the tiles from the tile file, so it would build the map form bigger files. Then all you have to do is to redraw the tiles. To be honest it wouldn't be difficult as we're talking about simple shapes and graphics, nothing too complex. It is a lot of work, granted, but it's only time consuming and not otherwise difficult. I was thinking about applying for the artist job myself, and this would be my first thing to work on, but I know that I won't have the time in the next half year to spend ~20 hours a week working on the game, which this game would need and deserve. The same is true to the Pokemon sprites as well. It wouldn't take too much time to use the Gen 5/6 (not animated) sprites and it would add a lot to the game, but it is time consuming to do it.
  13. A Pika/Raichu with Surf has a very strong move that can one-hit its most common counters, namely ground and rock types.
  14. In Johto.

    Fly/ Exp Share

Exp. share is an item to make leveling easier. In an MMO leveling should not be easy, it should be difficult, otherwise you could finish everything in 2-3 days and you would come back demanding more content.
  16. Re: Sell Banettite Mega Stone <r>Dude just go down the lowest level of the Poketower, buy the Litwick for 200k and you gonna get the Banettite too. So you get a Litwick AND Banettite for that money <E>:Shy:</E></r>
  17. Good luck Enki and thanks a lot for your hard work! We gonna miss you :)
  18. Now that is an enormous exploit. You shouldn't have such special abilities only because you've chosen Pika at the beginning. OK, allow the starter to learn Surf, but EVERY Pika you caught?! And why can't I teach my Pikas surf then? :(
  19. Which kinda makes a starter Pika OP in my humble opinion :P
  20. Catch a Bellsprout next to Vermillion City. It will be easy to beat Misty with it. Or catch Poliwag with Water Absorb.
  21. Nope. That would mean that a lv100 Charmeleon is just as strong as a lv100 Charizard. What I mean is, regardless of what level you evolve your Charmeleon, its stats will be upgraded to the same as it would have been evolved to Charizard on a lower level and have been trained as a Charizard since then. Example (note: I'm not using actual numbers): You have two Charmeleons with the same base ATK. You evolve one to Charizard and keep the another as Charmeleon. Let's say you level them evenly to lv99. Now let's say your Charmeleon has 170 ATK and your Charizard has 195. When your Charizard evolves to lv100 its ATK raises to 200. If your Charmeleon evolves to lv100 it will have 175 ATK. Butif it evolves to Charizard when it evolves, its ATK will be raised by the evolution to 200, exactly the same as your other Charizard. I hope this cleared it :)
  22. A Pokemon's base stats on every level are given, so your Charizard's stats will be the same on lv100 regardless of the fact if you evolve it on lv99 or on lv30
  23. Here is your guide: 1) Walk in the entrance from the West. 2) Follow the path to the other side of the map. 3) Ignore all the ladders. 4) Leave through the East entrance. 5) You're through Seafoam Islands.
  24. Stop spamming the "you're playing a beta fan-based etc." mumbo-jumbo. FYI in the second the game "comes out" from beta, it becomes illegal and will be shut down immediately. That's why EVERY Pokemon MMO is labelled "beta", and will ever remain Beta for the end of the world. That's just how legal stuff work. PRO is jsut as much as beta as any other game on release date - including the biggest titles in game industry. I really love this game and I wouldn't mind if it would be slightly more buggy but still playable. Currently only those can play who are lucky enough to be home when Europeans are still in work/school and Americans are still in bed. The others... well it's sad to be them. And it wouldn't bother me if this wouldn't be a problem since day 1. But from the release date it is well-known that the server is not enough to supply the playerbase. We were promised to have a stronger server within a week or two and nothing came out from it as fr as we know. It's been one month and we don't get a word about a new server. True, the staff managed to squeeze out some more from the original server, but it was always clear that it won't be enough. I know that Shane does awesome work when he's programming and I know he hates nothing more than telling the fanbase what's he's working on in the background (:P) but it would be really nice to know when we'll be able to play PRO normally... And finally, I know membership is gotten in exchange for DONATION. And I'm all for that. I love supporting a game I like and PRO is one that would definitely worth supporting. But if I support a game, I actually want to PLAY it and not just look at it form the login screen and imagine how wonderful it could be to play it!
  25. Somehow I doubt you have any problems logging in...
