I used to be on red server 2 years ago and merged last night into silver, when trying to log in to silver it says invalid user or password, I can log into gold server which starts character creation so I'm guessing my password and user is correct.

 

Is this a common issue? 

It is indeed a common issue. However it should be an easy fix, just reset your password using the dashboard and you should be able to login to the Silver Server.

The prompt "Invalid password/username" in indeed a common issue that can happen after merging an account to silver. To resolve this problem, you must simply reset your password using this link or the dashboard (You can use your old password). It's imperative that you use an alphanumeric password, which means only using numbers and/or letters as special characters in your password could create further issue(s) to connect to the game
