old man biker took my ditto and asked for another one when i came back

i go to the old man and ask him for a voucher and then he asks for a ditto so i go to route 8 and spend like 30 minutes getting a ditto and after i finish getting it i went back to the old man and gave him the ditto
then he asked for 40k and i had around 20k so i couldnt get the voucher because i originally thought it'd be for free after i get him the ditto, after that i progress and play the game for a while and after i get my money i went back to the old man to give him the 40k and he just asked for a ditto and said they appear in 8 or 13 and check your pokedex for more locations and i dont know if its a bug that i have to give him another ditto if i go and come back but someone told me to report this here, either way im pretty sure the pokeball means i already caught it before and its not in my pc so it must mean the old man took it since i didnt release it either

My apologies for the inconvenience. I checked with our scripters and it seems you have a Bicycle now. Could you confirm this?

Did the servers crash when you gave the Ditto or when you paid the money? I will forward this information

So recently The same thing happened to me. I've been trying to get a bike to access route 17 so I approached the old man and found a ditto for him, but at that time, i didn't have enough money to buy the bike, so I spent a day earning as much as I could and went through so much effort, to then have the bike-seller in cerulean tell me the same old thing.

as you can see, he just tells me the normal thing & in the left corner you can see i have the 60k as well. the only thing I can't seem to find is the bike voucher in my inventory,


So naturally at this point, I was confused since I straight up did the quest the other day, and thought it was all good but apparently not. and to confirm as you can see on the picture bellow I have caught the ditto and given it to him.




so yeah, when I go to the biker, you can see he confirms, me already having given his "ditto a friend" so I honestly don't know what to do, I'm at a point where I genuinely don't have many options to get money besides wild Pokemon, and I really grinded today to get ithe 60k, so naturally i don't know if this is supposed to happen, but from guides I got the impression that this isn't normal or supposed to happen, so If I have to get a further 40k more than that'd would really suck. 

Any Solutions?

If you give the Old Biker a Ditto he gives you a discount for the voucher, it is now 40k instead of 60k.

You have to buy the bike voucher for 40k and then you can get the bike from the bike shop.
