I'm curious, what was the first show that you ever watched that is considered a true anime series?

This excludes western cartoons and focuses more on Japanese anime.

 

For me, a friend was watching Soul Eater. I laughed at him for weeks about it until I was bored enough to watch the first few episodes. Instantly hooked. Have watched quite a few since. But what about you?

I think Dragonball was the first one but it could also be Saylor Moon or Pokémon.
