according to this wiki post, you can evolve pokemon that were lent through trades, that is however NOT currently possible. Points 10 and 14.

To begin, I’d like to clarify that the link you posted is a forum guide, not a wiki page. The PROWiki can be found through this link.

 

Now, onto your issue. When lending was first introduced, it was indeed possible to evolve the Pokémon and get their evolution data. However, this was changed due to it being way too easy for players to gather evolution data and abuse this system to get evolution data on many accounts over and over again with zero effort since it would revert back to the base form. So, you can no longer gain evolution data from evolving lent Pokémon.

As a side note, when looking at forum guides, or any guides, it’s important to check when it was posted or last edited to have a decent idea of how accurate or inaccurate it is. In this case, the post you linked is from 2018, making it unreliable.
