Kanjinuma
Thanks to the Xmas event (which I'm loving btw, luck aside), I've caught a handful of rare form pokemon, and I got to thinking... Similar to the "You got a rare encounter! (OK)" popup that prompts before the battle plays out, wouldn't it also be possible to add a check before or after the "run" option in those select fights? So that for any "rare" encounters, you don't accidentally hit your hotkey or misclick the wrong button, and end up logging out in despair, lol. I'm by no means a coding expert, but I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to implement since the (OK) popup and "rare" encounters as a labeled concept are already noted by the system. I feel like it would be an excellent qol change but regardless, thank you for your time and have a wonderful one. o7 1 Link to comment https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/268335-are-you-sure-yn-option-for-running-on-rare-encounters/ Share on other sites

Edwardlz
-1 I think allowing such mechanic would have a mixed effect. If I remember correctly, the “You’ve encountered a rare form!” pop-up used to not have a time limit, so it would just be there for as long as you don’t click on the OK button. However after I got back on PRO, that seems not to be the case anymore. After a few seconds, the pop-up will disappear on its own. Now I assume this change was done to reduce the amount of people using macros to auto-farm rare forms. Implementing your suggestion would just reverse the mechanic that they’ve introduced. Kanjinuma
In reference to people using this with macros to auto-farm rare forms, a person could simply code their program to visualize the screen and filter for rare form popups etc. using other methods regardless of the timer. But assuming they don't do all of that, I see your point. I'd say the idea could be tweaked to automatically run after x seconds (i.e.: it chooses "yes" the option for you after a while); letting actual people choose to abort in the case of hotkey miskicks (like intended), but also preventing people from just sitting on the "Are you sure" screen for an hour while afk. Again, there's a lot of ways you can go about it, but if someone *wants* to automate it, they'll find a way, lol. This idea was more-so just intended to help folks from rage-quitting on those one in a thousand encounters. o7 Link to comment https://pokemonrevolution.net/forum/topic/268335-are-you-sure-yn-option-for-running-on-rare-encounters/#findComment-1662802 Share on other sites
