Hello,

i just wanted to catch cryogonal, its listed in the pokedex and shown in the pkmn preview in the Diamond Domain Main cave, in the Cave its shown in the preview as a spawn in the water, but in the pokedex there is neither land/Water spawn declared, all other pkmn in the area are declared either land or water spawns in the pokedex. I have looked for 2 hours in the water but no single cryogonal, can someone check if its even correctly in the spawn table there for water spawns?

It's not a spawn bug as you see in the Pokédex, Cryogonal cannot be encountered in Diamond Domain Main Cave through Surf or land encounters. The only way to encounter Cryogonal here is by fishing in the water using the Super rod.

Hope this clarifies the method for locating Cryogonal.

The Pokédex does not display a fishing symbol in its previews. After accounting for grass and surf encounters, the only way to encounter wild Pokémon is by fishing in the water.

As an example, Squirtle is encounterable by fishing in Vermilion City, yet the Pokédex also does not show a fishing rod symbol there.

Don't worry, you have just been pretty unlucky! Spawns on the Pokedex are absolutely reliable!

Cryogonal is not caught by fishing in this route, but by surfing! If a Pokemon is only catchable via fishing, it will appear with a fishing rod icon in the bottom right of its icon in the top right map spawnlist popout!

To put my money where my mouth is, I personally went to this map just now and encountered a Cryogonal after hunting for 11 minutes!

Do you have any questions about how the hunting system works, or about anything else to do with Cryogonal spawns?
