I think my Ash Hat quest is bugged and I would appreciate some help.

• I chose Pikachu as my Kanto starter.

• I defeated Ash in Viridian Forest a few days ago. He is currently on cooldown and says: “Maybe come around in about 60 hours for a rematch.”

• Today, I farmed Mankey on Route 9 and obtained the Unknown Hat.

• I removed the item from my Pokémon after using Thief, but the item does not appear in my bag (I understand this may be normal for a quest item).

However, when I talk to Ash on Route 9, he only says:

“You didn’t see me in Viridian Forest training my pal Pikachu?”

He never continues the quest or asks about the hat.

I have already completed the Kanto League, and my Kanto starter is definitely Pikachu.

Could someone please check if my Ash Hat quest is bugged or if there is something I am missing?
