As i just finished Mt. Pyre, i was shocked about the amount of NPCs I needed to battle before reaching the summit.

That's why I lined up all of them + their pokemons. Take enough revives + potions if you're not strong enough to one-shot them all.

Before reaching the top of Mt. Pyre, you will encounter 26 NPCs, yes 26. All team Magma or Aqua. You will have to defeat them all in one run, because when you leave Mt. Pyre to heal your pkmns, the NPCs will respawn.

 

EDIT: THESE NPCs WILL NOT GIVE ANY EXP OR $$$!!!

if i remember correctly at some point the last npc says something along the lines of "you can go rest your pokemon now" so i dont think its a bug. they dont give any exp or money
