Where is the source that says unevolved pokemon level faster? Is this a PRO thing? It's a joke right? :Bored:

I saw one of the staff members confirm it in a thread but I can't remember which thread it was. I'll see if I can find it again.

It's a fact that unevolved Pokemon need less experience to level up, so you should evolve as late as possible.

 

Of course, if you have problems finishing the story don't hesitate to evolve in order to progress. :Grin:

Example:

tl;dr: if growlithe required 91 exp to level, an arcanine of equal level would require 213 exp to level.

 

In this example it's a 235% increase in EXP needed.

So if a growlithe needs 2500 EXP an arcanine of equal level will need 5875 EXP
