<SIZE size="85">I completely agree! I've recommended it to a lot of my friends, even those who aren't the magical girl loving type. As a child, I completely adored mahou shoujo animes, but over the years the common tropes associated to the genre made me lose interest. I was pleasantly surprised to find Madoka to be a 'breath of fresh air'; while the elements of a magical girl anime were still there, it deconstructed many common tropes, had great character handling, and a different direction/approach than most other magical girl anime. I personally think it's one of the best takes on magical girl anime.
