Prehax
[/hr] [glow=green]Bug Catching Contest[/glow] Hello everyone, this guide is about everything you need to know about the new Bug Catching Contest in PRO, if you have anything else to add just let me know! :) Please leave a :thanks: if you indeed liked it/find it useful, would appreciate it. [/hr] [/hr] [glow=green]Index[/glow] ( click on the number to go to a specific segment ) [goto=1]1.[/goto] [glow=green]What is the Bug Catching Contest?[/glow] [goto=2]2.[/goto] [glow=green]Where is this new area and what pokemon should I bring?[/glow] [goto=3]3.[/goto] [glow=green]What pokemon are available![/glow] [goto=4]4.[/goto] [glow=green]What do I have to do?[/glow] [goto=score]4.3.2[/goto] [glow=green]Scoring[/glow] [goto=5]5.[/goto] [glow=green]Rewards (including Genesect)[/glow] [/hr] [glow=green]1[/glow][anchor=1].[/anchor][glow=green]What is the Bug Catching Contest?[/glow] From this moment forward you can enter a new zone, with unique spawns until now never available and compete in a hard and great challenge, the Contest. To join you need to appear with [glow=green]ONLY ONE POKEMON (which is not a bug type[/glow]) in the [glow=green]National Park Stop House 1[/glow], in Johto, and talk to the guard. You will be join then the contest, you will have [glow=green]20 minutes[/glow] to capture as much bug pokemon as you can possibly capture ( remember, you need to save the pokemon you want to submit to the contest in your party, so you will have the access to a NPC that will delete a pokemon if interacted with it). After the 20 minutes have passed you will enter the Contest Hall and the Jury will choose which pokemon will be granted the victory, so remember to bring a really good pokemon there. Depending on the classification you will receive respective rewards for it. You can participate [glow=green]every 24 hours! The cooldown starts after you entered the area! You can ask the guard about your cooldown. [/glow] The requirements are: [glow=green]Hoenn Champ / one non bug type pokemon[/glow]. Credits: [mention]Shamac[/mention] out of the Announcements post [/hr] [glow=green]2[/glow][anchor=2].[/anchor][glow=green]Where is this new area and what pokemon should I bring?[/glow] First of all you need to go to the Route 35 which is located above Goldenrod City or west of Violet City. inside the Stop House is a Guard you have to talk to. I greatly suggest either one of those pokemon. The Alakazam is a sync pokemon and has also access to Thunder Wave, which makes catching pokemon easier and the Smeragle has a great False Swipe Set but is not a sync. The idea of the contest is to catch the highest valued pokemon (nature, ability are not included in that calculation). The decision is yours. [/hr] [glow=green]3[/glow][anchor=3].[/anchor][glow=green]What pokemon are available![/glow] All pokemon are available ALL DAY and only Larvesta and Shelmet need MS! Joltik ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Ledyba ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Ledian ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Paras ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Parasect ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Pineco ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Pinsir ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Scyther ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Yanma ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Dwebble ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Wormadam ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Mothim ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Caterpie ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Metapod ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Butterfree ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Weedle ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Kakuna ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Beedrill ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Silcoon ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Cascoon ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Shuckle ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Ariados~ M/D/N ~ no MS Spinarak ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Heracross ~ M/D/N ~ no MS Larvesta ~ M/D/N ~ MSShelmet ~ M/D/N ~ MS [/hr] [glow=green]4[/glow][anchor=4].[/anchor][glow=green]What do I have to do?[/glow] [glow=green]Step 1.[/glow]Go to the National Park Stop House 1 and talk to the guard [/hr][glow=green]Step 2.[/glow]Run around and catch some bugs! [/hr][glow=green]Step 2.1[/glow]If you want to know how high the score is use this NPC located in the Bug Catching Area. [/hr][glow=green]Step 2.2[/glow]If you don't like the pokemon or have a pokemon that already has a higher score, use this NPC located in the Bug Catching Area. You are only able to use this NPC when your pokemon is registered to the database which takes 2-3 minutes (gets an ID). [/hr][glow=green]Step 2.3[/glow]If you run out of pokeballs during your run, there is a Great Ball seller located in the area as well. [/hr][glow=green]Step 2.4[/glow]If your false swiper/sync pokemon gets incredible low health, you can use the Nurse Joy NPC for 2,5k$ per heal. [/hr][glow=green]Step 3.[/glow]After you are done with your run, talk to the Contest Judge! [/hr][glow=green]Step 3.1[/glow]How does the Scoring work and will I lose the caught pokemon? You will keep EVERY pokemon you caught in this contest unless you delete it; you won't lose it if you use it for the contest. The placement and therefore the rewards are based on the scoring you get and the scoring the other participants have. All 5 NPC participants submit pokemon, which has random IVs, is a random kind of pokemon in regards of the Tier and it can be Shiny. [glow=green]3.2[/glow][anchor=score].[/anchor][glow=green]Scoring[/glow] It is based on the different variables such as; Level (25 being the highest possible / 1 level = 1 Score) IV's (1 IV = 1 Score) Tiers, there are different tiers, the higher the tier the more scoring you get Tier 1= Caterpie, Weedle, Cascoon, Kakuna, Metapod, Silcoon, Paras, Ledyba, Spinarak Tier 2 = Beedrill, Butterfree, Beautifly*, Dustox*, Parasect, Ledian, Yanma, Pineco, Ariados* Tier 3 = Dwebble, Wormadam, Shelmet, Joltik, Shuckle Tier 4 = Pinsir, Mothim, Larvesta, Scyther, Heracross Tier2 has a maximal scoring rate of 286, keep that in mind " * " all pokemon with that mark are not available but can be leveled up to and gain a spot in terms of their tier scoring [*]Shiny or not Shiny [glow=green]The Scoring calculation[/glow] as shown above the calculation is based on different variables and here are some examples how it's calculated Base Scoring( Credits to [mention]yveltalray[/mention] for his research ) Tier 1 Base Scoring = 50 Tier 2 Base Scoring = 75 Tier 3 Base Scoring = 100 Tier 4 Base Scoring = 130 Shiny multiplier = x1.5 Examples (with math) Tier1 50 Base + 15 Level + 121 IVs (8,27,21,23,16,26) = 186 Scoring Tier2 75 Base + 17 Level + 124 IVs (11,23,25,13,27,25) = 216 Scoring Tier3 100 Base + 18 Level + 82 IVs (22,6,12,13,8,21) = 200 Scoring Tier4 130 Base + 17 Level + 116 IVs (8,27,17,18,26,20) = 263 Scoring Shiny multiplier( 100 Base + 25 Level + 186 (31,31,31,31,31,31) ) x 1.5 = 466 Scoring [glow=green]Step 4.[/glow]Talk to everyone who participated in the contest!
