First, after accessing Flakewood from Viridian, you'll need to talk to Elf Catherine in Cryofrost Town. On your way to the Town, there isn't much except trainers with Pokemon Lv40-50 and some grass. You'll want to hug the left side and cut the small tree (near the Stantler) to access the town.</SIZE></COLOR>

 

 

 

 

After speaking to Elf Catherine, she claims Santa is missing and says the kidnappers can't be far. To look for Santa, we need to head to Cryofrost Brink. There are some trainers here, but it is only required that you beat the Elf Awkarin and Young Elf Lex to progress through the quest. After beating both elves, continue moving east to Snowfall Valley.

In Snowfall Valley, you'll battle a few trainers and then walk up to Elf Patricia, who is guarding a mysterious house. We battle her and her line-up is as follows:

Azumarill, Lv68, Charizard, Lv68, Serperior, Lv70

After defeating Elf Patricia, we're allowed access into the house, and Santa is being held hostage by two kidnappers: Kidnapper Hamzah and Kidnapper Novanto! Walk up to one of the Kidnappers (I battled Hamzah) and beat them to save Santa! Kidnapper Hamzah's line-up is as follows:

 

Magnezone, Lv70, Gyarados, Lv72, Nidoking, Lv73,

Absol, Lv75, Florges, Lv77, Pangoro, Lv78</COLOR>

After saving Santa, the Kidnappers rush toward the Frozen cave while Santa heads back to Cryofrost Town. We head back to Cryofrost Town along with Santa and speak to him next to the Pokecenter, where he asks for us to track down the Kidnappers. From the town, we walk upward to Cryofrost Path and down on the fork and toward the right to Frost Valley. There's also an [glow=lightblue]ice puzzle[/glow] we'll need to solve to access the front of the cave; the solution is below in the spoiler.

After battling more trainers and figuring out the [glow=lightblue]ice puzzle[/glow] past Hiker Anderson, we meet Kidnapper Hamzah again! His new line-up is as follows:

 

Venusaur Lv80, Lanturn Lv82, Azumarill Lv84,

Talonflame Lv85, Noivern Lv86, Salamence Lv88</COLOR>

After defeating Kidnapper Hamzah, we're allowed access into the Frozen Cave. Surf toward the right side of Frozen Cave B2F, and after coming back onto land, we should find a ladder down at the bottom of the map. We follow this ladder up and find various trainers with Pokemon from Lv40-50. After following the ladder up, we walk left to the ladder that goes back downward. A quick diagram is shown below as to how to traverse the ladders.

After going down the final ladder, we find Kidnapper Novanto and Kidnapper Rais! We battle Kidnapper Novanto first, and his line-up is as follows:

After defeating Novanto, we then battle Kidnapper Rais, whos line-up is as follows:

After defeating them, we should be able to retrieve Santa's gifts... right..?

Weirdly enough, an Evil Grinch appears and steals all of Santa's gifts! We're left dumbfounded!

 

 

 

 

Clueless, we head back to Cryofrost Town and let Santa know our misfortune. Luckily enough, Santa refers us to his friend Mayor Maywho at Whoville, who knows of the Evil Grinches and could provide us with more information. Whoville is located east of Frost Valley. Before encountering the Evil Grinch, this is where the Sawsbuck were that 'wouldn't budge' (top right of Frost Valley, take the stairs from the [glow=lightblue]ice puzzle[/glow]). Now, the path should be cleared for us.

A quick diagram is shown below as to how to access Whoville Woods.

 

 

 

 

 

Here, we'll find Jackson standing in front of a suspicious tree! However, he won't allow us to go in as we don't have a 'real purpose'. So instead, we battle various trainers and Staff before moving upward to Whoville. After arriving to Whoville, Citizen Gabri tells us where the Mayor's house is, and we head there to talk to him.

 

A quick diagram as how to progress from Whoville Woods to Whoville is shown below:

 

 

 

Mayor Maywho's house:

 

 

 

 

After speaking to Mayor Maywho, he'll direct us to Investigator Justin, so we go to the house on the top east of the map and talk to the Investigators, who will let us in now that we've been given the Mayor's permission. We take the stairs up and find Investigator Justin on the top east side and speak to him. We now go back to Mayor Maywho and speak to him again.

The Mayor then tells us we need to head to Oakwood Cavern and collect seven pieces of Dragon Stone that the Grinch are weak to. Surprisingly enough, the entrance to Oakwood Cavern is what Jackson was guarding! So we head back down, and now that we have a 'real purpose' to enter the tree, we end up battling Jackson, which his line-up is as follows:

 

Gardevoir Lv100, Milotic Lv100, Glaceon Lv100,

Mamoswine Lv100, Beartic Lv100, Stoutland Lv100

 

 

 

 

Upon entering Oakwood Cavern, we find various scattered blue Pokeballs on the floor. This is similar to the Halloween event, where there is a chance that the Pokeball may be an evil spirit, or a piece that you're looking for.

 

In this case, it'll either be a Lv100 Krookodile, Lv100 Scizor, Lv100 Gengar, or a Dragon Stone!

After picking up all the blue Pokeballs, we realize we've only found six of the required seven Dragon Stones! Therefore, we speak to Old Man Netero at the top of the cavern, and find that he has the last piece we need! He'll give it to us if we defeat him in a battle... Here's his line-up:

 

Greninja Lv??, Ninjask Lv??, Excadrill Lv??,

Jolteon Lv??, Gengar Lv??, Crystal Onix Lv??

*The Crystal Onix absorbs water-type moves!</SIZE>

After collecting all seven Dragon Stones, we talk to Mayor Maywho yet again, who gives us a letter that allows us to head toward Mt. Crumpit. The guards on top let us pass and we head toward Crumpit Valley. After battling a few trainers (Lv40-50), surf left of Buddy the Elf and upward. Follow the path left of Graham, over the bridge, and then upward from XenosFrost. You know you'll have finished the valley when you're above Dipong

Now, you'll need to solve [glow=lightblue]four ice puzzles[/glow] to continue onward! Special thanks to Shanahand for drawing out the solutions as a diagram.

After solving the [glow=lightblue]ice puzzles[/glow], you'll defeat a few more Evil Grinches and reach the Summit. You'll enter the Interior and sneak around all the Evil Grinches in the area until you find the entrance into the Leader's Lair!

NOTICE: There is a free Master Ball in the Mt. Summit Interior! You will need to pick it up during the quest as you cannot re-enter the Interior after completing the quest. There is also a Big Nugget on Mt. Crumpit Summit!

He will then ask you to battle to take Santa's stuff back. The Evil Grinch Leader line-up is as follows:

After defeating the leader, he tries to escape! However, we cleverly call the police from the telephone that is conveniently located inside the Lair.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Evil Grinch Leader gets taken into custody. Time to head back and talk to Mayor Maywho!

He gives you an Elf Hat, a Stantler Headband, and some candy canes for your troubles.

We'll also head back to Santa in Cryofrost Town and receive a Santa Hat, a Santa Suit, a Christmas Cracker, a Xmas Stantler Mount, and some candy canes for helping him out!

*You can also speak to Jester Druz in Whoville for ten extra red candy canes upon completing the main event.
