Hello! This year's Christmas event will be a bit shorter, but the focus is very much on your needs and fun. First a little reminder; To fully enjoy the event, you must have already defeated the Hoenn E4 and not be locked in any region! Let's go to the first part of the event; Our hunting event! After the defeats of the last three years, the Grinch decided to challenge Santa Claus directly. Santa is very skeptical of the Grinch, but can only reach out to him on such a solemn occasion. The Grinch suggested a contest. He learned about a little elf who had to go through a lot this year. He lost his parents and is completely alone now. Of course, the Grinch thought that this year should end even more terrible. He challenged Santa to go in search of the best possible gift while the Grinch sought the worst gift possible. However, the elf would only receive the best or worst gift. But is that really all that Grinch is up to? Both are looking for the best/worst possible Pokemon now. Santa Claus and the Grinch compare their presents every advent. There will be six winners on each server, and it's possible to help out both at the same time! The big hunt starts with the first advent! _________________________________________________________________________ is looking for the best possible Pokemon! Rewards: 2nd advent: (Guaranteed HA, timid) 3rd advent: (Guaranteed HA, adamant) 4th advent: (Guaranteed HA, adamant) is looking for the worst possible Pokemon! Rewards: 2nd advent: (Guaranteed timid) 3rd advent: (Guranteed timid) 4th advent: (Guaranteed adamant) The best Pokemon will be announced via system message. Pokemon that can be submitted: (Rarer Pokemon give more points; Santa Claus only accepts good natures; The Grinch gives bonus points for no natures!) _________________________________________________________________________ Let's go to the second part! You may pick up your presents under the tree where Santa Claus is! Hopefully you will get great Christmas gifts! Unfortunately, not everyone has been a good boy or a good girl, as evil figures lurk around the island and have set their eyes on members of the Water troupe in eastern Eumi Island Theme Park. They will need your help to fight off these evil figures! _________________________________________________________________________ Do Pokemon we submit have to be caught on event maps? No, you can submit every Pokemon that was caught after the event started. What do I need to participate in the Christmas events? You need to have access to Lilycove City in Hoenn to participate. Can I help Santa Claus and the Grinch? Yes, you can submit Pokemon for both.2 points

I am literally providing you with off-meta sets that either I or my friends have seen success with, while you complain about not being able to use broken mons like Speed Boost Blaziken in the name of platitudes like "meta diversity." If I can win games with a Corsola on my team, a strong enough player should be able to succeed with whatever garbage they want, provided they actually know what they're doing. As for pretending that Whimsicott, Corsola, Porygon2, and Rotom-H see any regular play whatsoever, good riddance. This is the stuff you play if you hate the meta and want to style on people. If you can't find anything new in a Blaziken-less, Dugtrio-less meta, good luck trying to experiment when +2 Blaziken High Jump Kicks are flying around at Scarfed speed tiers and Arena Trap nullifies your wallbreakers at a whim.2 points

In my opinion , if 2 players have same rating ,the one with the higher winrate should be higher in placements than the other player. I think its a pretty reasonable suggestion , hope u take it into consideration . Ty2 points

SCARLET ABOUT US Scarlet is an aspiring PvP-guild in the silver server, founded in July 2018. Our guild consists of an active guild base that aims to reach the guildladder in every PvP season. Besides that, the guild focuses on bringing together individuals who are willing to PvP and invest their efforts into not only making it fun but to also cultivate competitiveness. In order to promote earnest PvPing we host in-guild PvP-tournaments, provide a considerable library of lendable PvP-relevant Pokemon and encourage having a plethora of Pokemon by hosting hunting events. We also help each other with teambuilding and provide advice when one asks for it. Outside of PvP, we occupy and enjoy a number of PvE-activities such as fighting bosses, participating in in-game /events and hunting. BENEFITS LENDING SYSTEM There is one obstacle in the way of every aspiring PvP-player: the lack of options when it comes to PvPing. Be it that you don't have the Pokemon with their desired IV-stats. Be it that you don't have time to hunt the Pokemon that you need in order to realize quirky ideas. Maybe you simply just don't have the money to buy the most high-end Pokemon in terms of stats. It all boils down to lack of time. There is one thing that you have: the will to genuinely and earnestly get good at PvP-ing. Scarlet provides a unique system in which PvP-players can thrive. We have made an effort to collect a magnificent library of Pokemon that are PvP-relevant, gucci in stats and ready to use. DEX SERVICE We own an account with all Pokemon that you can currently catch in-game. This will help you to complete certain quests and catch your legendary Pokemon. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS Completed all regions in-game and have interest in PvP Basic knowledge about PvP, aspects such as IV, EV, nature etc. Be active on Discord QUESTIONS Please make sure to be as honest as you can with your answers, so we can have a better understanding of who you are. Be elaborate with your answers as there is a voting system within' the guild and each one of our members will vote if you can join or not. How old are you and where are you from? Why would you like to join Scarlet? What do you want to achieve in PRO? (except the obvious having fun). How did you find out about Scarlet? What is your discord ID? (makes it easier for us to contact you) Please provide a screenshot of your trainer card. Discord Server Link1 point

On one hand, it definitely is irritating to see people be rewarded for consistently average play. (PRO ladder system definitely rewards grinding) On the other, your winrate is its own reward - you can spend a lot less time grinding PvP and achieve the same result. At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter that often, but why not just give coins to everyone involved in a tie at 25th?1 point

The diversity is yours to find. In case you weren't aware: Blaziken is banned because no one wants to be forced to run Azumarill / Gyarados / Slowbro / Cofagrigus / Gastrodon on every team for a 50% chance at stopping it, and it renders offensive builds nigh-impossible. Isn't this the opposite of what you want? Please do take a moment to consider the implications before making ridiculous suggestions. The PRO meta is reasonably dynamic currently with plenty of good sets either completely or relatively unexplored. Just because other people are playing the same thing doesn't mean you have to as well. Of course, this will probably negatively affect your winrate, because without a proper understanding of the meta, you cannot effectively counter it. Best of luck. Here's some interesting, yet solid sets for you to try, if you actually want to attempt to play something different: Offensive Options Whimsicott @ Leftovers Ability: Prankster Nature: Bold EVs: 252 HP 252 Def 4 SpD - Memento - Moonblast - Stun Spore - Taunt Salamence @ Life Orb Ability: Intimidate Nature: Naive EVs: 252 Atk 252 Spe 4 SpA - Outrage - Iron Tail - Fire Blast - Earthquake Rotom-Heat @ Choice Specs Ability: Levitate Nature: Modest EVs: 252 SpA 252 Spe 4 HP - Overheat - Thunderbolt - Hidden Power [iCE] - Trick / Volt Switch Venomoth @ Black Sludge Ability: Tinted Lens Nature: Timid EVs: 252 SpA 252 Spe 4 HP - Quiver Dance - Bug Buzz - Roost - Sleep Powder / Sludge Bomb Tyrantrum @ Lum Berry Ability: Rock Head Nature: Adamant EVs: 252 Atk 252 Spe 4 HP - Dragon Dance - Head Smash - Outrage - Earthquake / Fire Fang Breloom @ Toxic Orb Ability: Poison Heal Nature: Jolly EVs: 252 Atk 252 Spe 4 HP - Spore - Superpower / Facade - Seed Bomb / Facade - Swords Dance / Mach Punch Defensive Options Azumarill @ Leftovers Ability: Sap Sipper Nature: Calm EVs: 252 HP 252 SpD 4 Def - Perish Song - Whirlpool - Protect - Rest Gastrodon @ Leftovers Ability: Storm Drain Nature: Relaxed EVs: 252 HP 252 Def 4 SpD - Scald - Earthquake - Toxic - Recover Corsola @ Air Balloon Ability: Regenerator Nature: Bold EVs: 252 HP 252 Def 4 SpD - Scald - Toxic - Stealth Rock - Recover Mantine @ Leftovers Ability: Water Absorb Nature: Calm EVs: 252 HP 252 SpD 4 Def - Scald - Defog - Roost - Toxic Gligar @ Eviolite Ability: Immunity Nature: Impish EVs: 252 HP 252 Def 4 SpD - Earthquake - Roost - Defog - Knock Off / Toxic Porygon2 @ Eviolite Ability: Trace Nature: Calm EVs: 252 HP 120 Def 136 SpD - Recover - Tri Attack / Ice Beam - Shadow Ball / Thunderbolt - Toxic edit: added more sets1 point

This is fundamentally not true and cannot be applied to the game, at all. It would be the case if it was theorised that each and every PVPer is of equal skill and the match ups were "fair", but they aren't, and they never will be. Take football for example, the teams in the middle of the table are those most likely to have around a 50% winrate. It's not because they play the top teams more often than they play anyone else, cause they literally play each team the same amount of times throughout the season. Now, I do realise this is somewhat counterproductive because you don't have any set matches in PRO, but bare with me. Moving on from the previous note. You already established that it's impossible to have this "perfect" matchmaking system. However, the win-rate isn't useless. You mention: Your win ratio depends on the luck you have with matchmaking, which means your rating does too. Spamming an insane amount of games in a season increases your chance of getting 30 bad opponents in a row and therefore climbing, does it not? I mean - you do the math and everything, but don't try to tell me the chance isn't higher if you play 1500 games compared to playing 150. A person may be good enough to be around 400 rating with a 60% winrate, for example. However, that same person may play a lot of matches throughout a season, and eventually he/she is going to win enough matches to go well above 400 rating, because there's a probability of either getting bad opponents and not getting haxed in those games, or getting decent/good opponents and haxing/winning against them naturally. That natural 400 rating player may lose 8 or 9 out of 10 times to the better player, but if this is the one game where said person wins, their rating will LIKELY be higher than their usual "max" rating. Remember Leicester City almost being relegated one season and then winning the Premier League the season after? Yeah, they exceeded their skill cap and were arguably lucky as well. It happens, though. Considering Pokémon as a whole is much less skill involved and relies more on luck, it is much more applicable, in my opinion. People already have access to use alt accounts in PVP, because of their competetive anxeity, so why is it not fair? The fact that they shouldn't be allowed it a whole other discussion, but there really aren't any arguments to be made. It doesn't disencourage PVP'ing. It really is about what your incentive is to start off with, is it not? You rarely see people with the same rating on top of the ladder at the end of a season. I primarely PVP because I enjoy it and want to end on ladder, although it isn't very hard at the current point in time, from a subjective point of view, obviously. If your incentive is you want to end on ladder, you have no reason to PVP while you're on ladder anyways. If your incentive is to have fun and test teams, or even get PVP coins, you have no reason to care. It really wouldn't change anything.1 point

It's kinda boring to get always a wingull, people will ends up with like pages and pages of shiny wingull. Suggest to make it a random tier 1 gen 3 and 4 (maybe 5 and 6 too if you want) shiny instead of always wingull.1 point

I don't know what your issue is but my smeargle had no problem relearning sketch once he was lvl 100 ( so I could put roleplay, soak and spore). Maybe the bug is on just for a few people.1 point

Not sure why this is not a thing already. As far as I've been able to see, it comes down to who has the earliest letter in the alphabet. That sounds just about fair, right? Not sure what the max amount of characters a person can have in his name is, but whatever the amount, I'm filling it up with A's at the next possible chance to change my username. After playing enough games, you will get sorted into your natural rating one way or another. It's not about the lucky winstreak you may have versus 20 newer players. If you end up winning those 20, you'll eventually get up against someone who's better. It's bound to happen.1 point

Hey. After reading and discussing it, your suggestion will be denied. Many people work hard to get their legendary (a few of them with 450 hours requirement), and they can be countered pretty easily, if using the correct checks for them, as pointed on some answerers above. Wish you a great week, have a good time playing! ----------------Locked-1 point

I would whine about some of them like suicune before trick was coded. If you went unprepared for something like a crocune before, it was pretty hard to counter it. However, now I always care a choice trick user in all my teams for boring stally pokémon. xD1 point
