  1. Sorry about that, it wasn't intended. We'll be recreating the NPC soon!
  2. Energy Ball got swapped directly with Grass Knot. So Grass Knot is now at Eterna Gym, while Energy Ball is at one of Love Island's Houses.
  3. The Gym Leaders do drop money for their Badge battle, although it now happens inside the battle window instead of outside. As such, the amount scales with the level of their Pokemon. The received amount may thus be lower for the earlier gyms, and higher for the later gyms. As for rematches and Copycat Lamsie, we preferred to have them focused as a leveling up method, along with item rewards for the Gym Rematches. It could be something to add for the rematches, but for Copycat Lamsie, since she's a trainer that you can technically keep battling over and over as players keep doing Story, it would potentially become a large money income, hence why we preferred to keep her specialized as a leveling method.
  4. Don't worry, all the TMs are still available somewhere! Making the players search for them is not one of the goals, so we're looking to update you all with the information. In the meanwhile, I'm open to answer regarding specific TMs. For the TMs you have asked, Toxic, Psychic and Earthquake have not moved, they are still available in the same Gyms. Flamethrower, Thunderbolt and Ice Beam are now available in every Department Store, but you will need at least 6 badges of the corresponding region.
  5. Yeah, I'm aware some people could prefer one over the other, but this was the logical choice. From a story point of view, Juan only replaced Wallace because he became the Champion, but we still have Steven as the Champion. Furthermore, there has never been any Gym that required the challenger to fight two Gym Leaders separately. From a gameplay point of view, they just had similar teams, so there was no point to fight both. That said, Juan is still a character that exists in the world of PRO. We'll definitely look into seeing how we could potentially reintroduce Juan, maybe as a Boss, or as a Quest character. For now, the focus was on giving a new life to the Gym Leaders and all that rotates around them.
  6. Hello everyone! Every Gym Leader has been reworked! The following has been changed: Gym Leaders now have better dialogs and more balanced teams. An often requested feature, Gym Leader can now be rechallenged after completing their region! They're stronger than regular trainers, but weaker than bosses. Every Gym is now assigned a unique TM, both used by the Gym Leader and sold by the Gym Guide. Due to this, various TMs and Tutor Moves may now be obtained from different locations. Furthermore, a new NPC, Copycat Lamsie, makes her appearance nearby Gyms. She will copy the team of the latest player who won against the Gym Leader, and you will be able to fight her for experience every time she copies a new team. Here's the specifics for each change. Regular Gym Leader Challenge: Most Gym Leaders got their dialogs rewritten, to be more complete and in-character. Money is always rewarded during battle instead of outside, and therefore scales with their level. Just like before, Gym Leaders will no longer give experience after you lose to them. However, they will give experience again if you wait a full day before rechallenging them. Their teams have been balanced to be better adapted for their level. Some of them have also changed level to better fit the expected level of the player. Gym Leaders now have EV points spread into all their stats. The higher their level, the more EV points they have, without going over the normal 510 limit. Gym Leader Rematch: Gym Leaders are now available to be battled again once you complete the Elite Four of their region. You can expect them to be as strong as the Champion, if not a bit more. The final Gym Leader of a region is slightly stronger, and always have one Mega Pokemon in their team. Gym Leader Rematches reward experience and items related to their type, but no money. They might be good for getting the last few levels of a Pokemon? Gym Leader Rematches have a cooldown of 7 days, regardless of if you have won or lost. TM Sellers: Every Gym now has a unique TM assigned to it, which cannot be purchased anywhere else. Due to this design decision, certain Gym Leaders were assigned TMs that they never used in the original games. The first purchase of a TM is half price, making it easier of access during story. The next purchases are full price, or 5 for the price of 4, just like before. Due to the new distribution of TMs, some TMs such as Roost are no longer available outside of the Gym, while other moves such as Energy Ball are now taught or sold elsewhere. Every TM and Move Tutor available before the update still remain available somewhere. We have also balanced the prices to be more consistent and representative of the power of the move. Right now, this is only applied on the affected TMs and Tutors, but it is planned to rebalance all of them in the future. Department Stores now have two TM sellers, one of which always have the same selection of TMs regardless of the region. The more badges you have completed in the region, the better the TMs they will sell! A new TM seller is now in Fuchsia City. She sells TMs that were exclusive to Generation 1, and as such, that can only be taught to the original 151 Pokemon. Copycat Lamsie: Lamsie becomes available to fight whenever you defeat the corresponding Gym Leader. Her team will be the exact same as the team of the player who last defeated the Gym Leader. However, she will ignore teams that she judges are too strong, usually as a result of trading with another player. Fighting her rewards experience, but no money. It can be a cool way to gain levels if you feel you're too weak, or if you want to train a new Pokemon. Her cooldown lasts until she copies a new team. That is, the more people are doing Story, the smaller her cooldown will be. Specific changes: The stats of Viridian's Gym Leader's Pokemon have been adjusted. It now has less offensive stats, but a lot more HP, just like a mini-boss. This should make it easier for many Pokemon to be able to contribute to the fight without relying to cheese strategies. Just like in the original games, Blue replaces Viridian's Gym Leader after completing Kanto's Pokemon League. He will be the one offering the rematch instead of the original Gym Leader. Tate and Liza are no longer separate NPCs to fight. You will fight both of them at the same time, although still as a regular battle style. Juan has been removed. You only need to fight Wallace to receive Sootopolis' badge. If you have any feedback regarding the Gym Leader rework, let us know! I'm particularly looking for the following feedback: Is there any Gym Leader that you feel is too strong or too weak? Have you found any team copied by Copycat Lamsie that you feel should have been ignored? We will be keeping track of your feedback and may adjust the features as needed to keep everything balanced.
  7. Hi Moethchdn. I'm glad that we were able to return you back outside the quest area along with your rewards. Regarding this, Wonder Room is indeed intended. The fight was made to make you alternate using Physical and Special moves according to if Wonder Room is up or not. Unfortunately, the AI uses Support moves very inconsistently, so it can happen that it never gets used in the battle. Have a good day, Shizeria
  8. No, unfortunately, no variable was modified after the battle, meaning that leaving is synonym to giving up. Fortunately, this also means that you did not lose any retry, so if you had any retry remaining, you will be able to try again multiple times even if RNG does not favor you. Best regards, Shizeria
  9. Hi Moethchdn, This is a difficult situation, since a specific and very important line of code is no longer working. Simply returning you to the main world is not an option, since you will not only lose most of your items, but also return with the temporary Pokemon created for the quest. I've created a temporary solution, but this will need further manual assistance from us. The quest should be able to continue as normal, so you have two options: Either you just leave, or you attempt the final battle again (You will be healed before the fight). In either case, you will end up in a temporary map called "Spiritomb Soul Underwater". Once you arrive there, please contact us again so that we can manually finalize the necessary modifications and return you to the main world. Best regards, Shizeria
  10. Hi Kiiru, I've reset your variable for this NPC, so he should reappear. Can you confirm that you are able to speak to it without any issue? Also, we are clueless as to why this NPC got hidden, as the NPC never gets hidden by itself, nor should it ever get hidden until the quest is completed. As such, we'd like more information in order to investigate the issue. In particular, what happened when you spoke to Spiritomb? Did it say anything before the crash? Or were you able to see a few dialog boxes before the crash? If so, what is the last message you remember seeing?
  11. Hi Arya, and sorry for the inconvenience. I couldn't find any issue regarding what could have caused it, but I've at least created a new NPC to help you out. There should now be a Mantine who will take you back to your latest Pokemon Center, so that you can grab back your Pokemon from your boxes. This NPC will work for anyone who has the same problem. Can you confirm to us that everything else is fine? Have you received back all your items? If there's anything missing, avoid returning in Spiritomb's soul, as restoring them will be more complicated if the variables are overwritten.
  12. Glad to hear! I'll be closing this thread as resolved, then. Have a good day!
  13. Hi Parker, Thank you for the report. This was a Waterfall that we missed during the Waterfall reworks, and thus still had the odd behaviors from before. We've now reworked the waterfall, and it should now let you consistantly climb it on the condition of course that you've fulfilled all the requirements to climb it. Let us know if you were able to climb it correctly~
  14. Glad to hear that you were able to receive your Sceptilite. I'll be closing this thread as resolved, then. Have a good day!
  15. Bonus info on Hoenn Mega Starter quest~ The number of retries you get for a Pokemon depends on the various stats of your Pokemon: 1 base retry. Every 35 total IV points gives +1 retry, theorically up to +5 at 175 IV total. +1 retry for each of the following achieved: Over 240 happiness, 510 total EVs, level 100. Shiny or special form gives +2 retries. The total amount of retries cannot go below 2 retries. This means that the theorical maximum amount of retries you can have is 11 retries, although you would more likely reach 7-8 retries with a fully trained good catch. You also gain one more retry everytime you win a round. As such, even a bad Pokemon will still be able to benefit from retries if you know the strategy for the first few rounds!
  16. Hi Zenelink, I've investigated your variables, and it seems that you were able to complete the quest. I have also found that there was a Sceptilite equipped on one of your fully leveled Sceptiles. Can you explain what happened afterwards? Were you able to find the Sceptilite in your inventory? Or did you return and go through the quest again?
  17. Hi Gu1nevere, Thank you for the report. I've applied a fix that should prevent the Pokemon from evolving if it is not at the expected evolution stage. I've also noticed a few other issues related to your disconnection, so their fix will also be applied shortly. I was worried that you would be unable to complete the quest with Torchic, but it looks like you were able to reproduce the bug, fully evolve it into Blaziken and successfully complete the quest... I have mixed feelings regarding that, but at the very least, I'm glad you didn't have to restart the quest due to this bug. Since it seems you don't need any assistance, I'll be closing this thread as resolved. Have a good day!
  18. Glad to hear! I will be closing this thread as resolved, then. Have a good day!
  19. Hello PVPKING1, We apologize for the inconvenience. I had hoped that the quest would still be functionnal even after a crash, but I did not expect such a result from a crash. I'm unsure if I can prevent this from happening again, but at the very least, given that you still have the topmost Spiritomb shown, I've coded a fix on it. If you talk to it, it should proceed with the quest as if you talked to the accessible NPC that would normally blocking the way. Let me know if this worked!
  20. The money gain formula has indeed not been touched. As the average level increased and the total amount of Pokemon, including from new trainers, also increased, the amount of money you can receive from a full run of the Johto trainers should also have increased.
  21. Hi Bambitto, The Story Writer recruitment will end the 19th August at 23:59 GMT. Unfortunately, that is not much time remaining, so if you're planning on applying, you will need to hurry a bit so that your application makes it in time. If you don't think you'll be able to complete it, do focus on the parts that you think will highlight your writer skills the most! Have a good day!
  22. Johto trainers have now been reworked according to the points above from the Kanto Rework. In additions, the following extra changes have been made: All Johto trainers now have a title and a name, making it easier to tell who will fight and who won't. A few new trainers were added throughout the region. None of them are mandatory to fight. Ecruteak City's Dance Theater is now home to many new trainers, meant to be fought before challenging the Ghost gym leader, Morty.
  23. Hi DavDav, All you need to do is to post the application as a new thread in the Story Writer Application section, as linked in the original post. There is nothing special for you to do in order to make the topic private, the permissions of the section are set so that regular users can only see their own threads inside that section. I hope this answers your question. Have a good day!
  24. Hi AlwaysLate. The Story Writer will be responsible of creating stories and dialogs for upcoming content such as Legendary Pokemon quests and the main story for upcoming regions. Some of our current projects are stalling specifically because we are struggling to come up with good stories and keep it consistent throughout all the Content Scripters working on them, so these projects will certainly be the first tasks of newly recruited Story Writers. About the deadlines, creating the story should be the first step in the workflow of a new content, so deadlines should usually fall on the side of other Content Creators, particularly Content Scripters. That said, certain contents like seasonal events do require stricter deadlines. As for meetings, we do make meetings, but as we have members from all across the world, we know it is not possible to have a meeting with everyone present. Hi Anurag. The character must be a character of your own creation. Just like the example I wrote, it could be a trainer looking to begin his or her own journey or that has already begun that journey. It could be a character that is currently doing a profession like Tara who is travelling to provide her Fortune Telling services across the world. Any kind of character you can think of is fine, the only constraint is that this character lives in the world of Pokemon. However, it is to note that we will be evaluating you based on this character. Of course, re-using a pre-existing character, including those I wrote, is a no-go, but the more original and detailed your character is, the better we will evaluate it. I hope this answers your questions. Have a good day!
  25. Hello, All reworked NPCs, including those in the Cinnabar Island gym, no longer challenge you after you have won at least once against them. Unfortunately, this change was not retro-active, so their Line of Sight remains in the same state as before, that is, they will still challenge you the first time you walk in front of them since their old script did not remove their Line of Sight after defeating them. If the trainers still challenge you the second time you visit the gym since the rework, please do report it as it is not an intended behavior. Have a good day!
