Can you try entering the cave on Route 25, where you battled Entei Guardian, with your Entei in your first slot? If you receive a dialog box, then return to Scientist Rey and continue the quest normally. Can you also try speaking with the Gentleman NPC south of the Dark Pulse TM Seller and show me what he says? If he tells you that he saw thieves go in the direction of the Miltank Farm on Route 39, then continue the quest normally. If neither of these happen, please let me know.

My apologies for the late response. Your thread was lost amongst the others. The use of those crystals was to change the form of Diancie into one of the several Easter forms. They could also be made to make special Pokeballs inside the Jeweler's house in Breezy Town. Since the event has since ended, I will lock this thread. My apologies for the extreme delay. Your thread was lost amongst the rest. There was an issue regarding the server time after a server change. They were two hours off, so the Bug Catching Contest would have been affected by this. If you still have this problem, try doing it two hours earlier than usual.
