Other servers do have this problem and the staff can't do anything about it because it's a player-ran market. Since there's a larger demand for MS, sellers are going to raise their prices to make as much profit as possible. It isn't greedy, it's business. If you don't like the prices, don't buy from that seller. There are plenty more who sell it for cheaper, you just have to keep an eye out.

As far as I can tell, both the Yellow and Red servers are the most populated; this is due to them both being the default server for a while. If I were you I'd stick with the Blue server and play there. However, it's your decision in the end :P

Well, they are selling it so they can choose the price for it. Since PRO has a player ran market, sellers can list whatever items they want for whatever prices they want. If you don't like the prices then don't buy from those sellers. If your opinion is shared among others then the seller will eventually lower their prices as no one is buying from them. I will note; as the game gets more popular and MS gains a higher demand more people will be willing to pay the 'higher' prices for it. If you're struggling for money then I recommend looking at this guide. However, in the mean time, MS prices will continue to fluctuate. A few months ago they were at the 160k mark and even then players were making the same complaints over the prices.

Put the pickaxe in your hotbar and when you go to a smashable rock, try clicking on the hotbar number.

Where are you trying to get to Trainers Valley from? I've seen some players try to travel there from a Pokecenter, which isn't how you go about it. If you meet all the requirements then go to travel from Saffron to Goldenrod (Or the other way round) and the guard at the train will give you the option to go to Trainers Valley. You must have at least 10k extra to get the option.
