Registration will close on February 14th, and the tournament will begin on February 21st. What this means is that any Pokemon over 3.41% usage in my data, collected from over 200 PvP battles on both Gold and Silver ladders over the course of December and January, will be banned from use. In addition, I will be banning several more Pokemon for balance reasons (usage doesn't tell the entire story on an MMO, cf. It was quickly and unanimously banned. Venusaur - Under the sun, Venusaur is a monster. In normal conditions, it's held in check by defensive Pokemon it lacks the sheer power to break through - those Pokemon are few and far between in this format. The following Pokemon are now Quickbanned, due to balance concerns: Latios - As one of the strongest special attackers in the game, Latios would prove too much for UU. Its sole reason for not making the cutoff is due to how ridiculously difficult it is to obtain. Latias - While potentially balanced, it shares many traits with Latios. Furthermore, allowing Latias but banning Latios would unfairly benefit those who picked Latias (when will we get both...) Suicune - RestTalk Suicune is incredibly powerful, and would invalidate virtually any other defensive strategy available. Raikou - Raikou is an excellent special attacker. Its usage is constrained by its competition with Suicune and Entei (once again, why don't we still get all three) and the difficulty of obtaining Hidden Power [iCE]. Manaphy - Tail Glow. The following ability is banned: Drizzle - There are a multitude of potent Swift Swim Pokemon available in the metagame. Combined with Drizzle's instant rain, these would be broken. The goal of this tournament is to produce a different metagame, not to replace Pelipper with Politoed, Kingdra with Omastar, and simply play standard Rain. In addition, anything banned on the PRO Ladder is also banned by proxy. break[/hr] Rules break[/hr] 1. Matches will be 6v6, best of 3. One match will be played per round, which will last a week. Matches are to be played on Pokemon Revolution Online. 2. Standard clauses are in effect. 3. All Pokemon in the above banlist are not usable. Attempting to use these Pokemon will lead to a game loss. 4. Screenshots and recording of battles are not required, but recommended. 5. In the event of a dispute or non-completed match at the deadline, I reserve the right to settle it. All decisions are final. 6. Please don't disappear without warning.
