Hello, probably a long shot but I still never got my items back after returning to heatran quest

Seems you started the quest before some changes were made and then completed it after the changes, making it bug out. None of this was your fault and it has now been fixed.

The items taken by Buck have been returned to you now. Please verify that and get back to me.
