After finishing the darkrai quest I went to catch it and while weakening it down I accidentally killed it and now it's not there..

How will I get to catch/how will the darkrai respawn can I get help?

You need to beat Horon at Dark Valley without having a Pokemon faint, and the catchable Darkrai will respawn.

To make Darkrai respawn, you indeed need to defeat Horon in Dark Valley. After that, you can return to the same location where it first appeared and try hunting it again.
