If you do not want to buy a mount from shop, then the only way you can do is to farm money from wild pokemon and trainers. Further, you should save money on buying portions, do not use them until you have to. Considering you are in early stage, I do not recommend you to capture good pokemon and sell it to players, the reason is that the cost would be considerably high for you.

If the game freezes when reconnecting server, that means the server is either full or breaking down. I have that a lot when connecting the server on the log in screen. However, if the server is available, It will not have any issues.

I think you should equip dragon / ice type in order to against lance to avoid hard time with him. Alternatively, you can learn ice -beam on your water type pokemon.

when game shows 'cant connect to server ', it either full of players or the server is down. Most of time it is because the server is full, in this case you should keep trying.

you should capture 6 pokemons and different types and train them as they have equal levels. So that you are unlikely to have hard time. XD.

for EV, which mean that if i keep defeating enemy Pokemon, my Pokemon EV will increase and hence increase the Total Stat? Pokemon are limited to 252 EVs per stat, every 4 EVs obtained in a particular stat equals one more point for that stat. Which means, if you have 4 ev points and 1 point will be appeared on the white column. Alternately, you can buy those in celadon city for 8000 each.

IV also known as Individual Values, are hidden stats that every Pokemon has. They range from 0 to 31 in each stat, and cannot be changed. EV EVs, or Effort Values, are another hidden stat that indicate the Pokemon's training. you can earn them by defeating enemy Pokemon, different ev needs to defeat different pokemon.

If running shoes are implemented, then I think not many people would interested in buying bikes due to they have similar speed based on my experience. Perhaps make it slower than bicycle speed but faster than normal walking speed and obtainable in cerulean city for 30k.
