You need wait for the cooldown before can teach it again (it count as you chose surf but then deny learn). The time is a bit long around 2 weeks, I am not remember. You maybe wait some more and then check it again.

Hi, sometimes you can met this problem if you have longtime no open item/pokemon change. For now, there are no longterm solution. However, I will recommend you before often click item button in battle around per 20min for shortterm solution. Hence, it will help you not meet this issue again. Hope it can help you.

thanks guys. also metal claw's always been a move charmander/charmeleon would haven learned at a low level so that confuses me. still appreciate it I don't think metal claw have in movepool of charmander https://pokemondb.net/pokedex/charmander And also check in pokedex PRO
