There's no one "thing" that determines a Pokemon's worth. Each pokemon needs different things that make it valuable. For instance: Gengar wants a Timid nature. The only way you would know that is by looking on a website (such as Smogon) that lists what the best nature for Gengar is, or asking someone who knows more so you can learn about it.. Gengar also wants to have 31 Speed and as close to 31 Special attack. This is because Gengar is a very offensive pokemon. The defensive IV's on Gengar are mostly irrelevant. However, when looking at a Pokemon like Ferrothorn, a Timid nature and 31 iv's in Speed and Special Attack actually decreases the value. Ferrothorn is a tank pokemon, so it wants a nature like Impish, Relaxed, or Sassy. Since it is defensive, we want the IV's in Defense, Special Defense and HP to be as close to 31 as possible. The TL;DR of this is that the only way to understand what makes a pokemon valuable is playing the game a lot and learning, and/or looking at an external source to understand why a pokemon is good. You can always ask for help before starting to hunt for a pokemon, chat is usually helpful :) Hope this helped.

Thanks Letrix.

In the process of attempting to make a guide. I'm logging on occasionally and adding bits and pieces to it, but I already have tons of drafts and I don't see anyway to delete them without posting them first. Is there a way?

I don't know what server you're on, but Blue currently rates are done basically exclusively in all/help chat. They have literally never been done in trade chat. Battle chat is deserted and is not used. EV and pvp questions usually happen in All, since the people in help chat tend to be newer and dont know PRO pvp. Changing chat rules has been proposed a couple times, unfortunately people will always put questions and rates in whatever channel they feel like, just like people will misplace their posts on the forum.

This service doesn't exist for regular pokes. People offer it and just level it up/ev train with their own tricks. PRO didn't make a service for it.

Well, if you're willing to pay 200k+ for daycare service you can buy a ton of rare candies and cut some of the late stage training out. Otherwise realistically there's no way the game would add a daycare service for the 10 or so legendaries that are available.

Yeah, no reason not to have more vanity sets. I would personally love all the original anime outfits: -Red clothes -Misty clothes -Brock clothes -Ash Ketchum clothes

If you have time to do PvP and bosses, you have time to train. You just don't want to.

If you're using that exact picture, I can tell you already the file size is too big.

What do you mean slow? Do you mean your character moves slow? Interacting with objects/NPCs is slow? Is your FPS low?

Seems fine to me. There'd be no reason it's not okay.

Request Guide to beat Hannah for casual players
Purplemauth replied to Sunrhapz's topic in General Game Talk
Just getting a seaking was never enough to beat Hannah, unfortunately. You need some level 100 raised pokemon. Make sure you use agility 6x so that your seaking gets the max amount of sp.atk boost from lightning rod. You should have a modest seaking, as his sp.atk is quite bad. Ev training helps and does more damage. I think if you put a focus sash on your seaking then 2 surf should kill the metagross. From there surf should kill volcarona and signal beam can kill Sharpedo. Additional ideas: Raise any forretress with the ability sturdy, and use stealth rocks and spikes. Gives you additional damage on all pokes switching in.. Pokemon with high atk and priority moves (Adamant/Technician Scizor using bullet punch can pick off Sharpedo late game, Technician Breloom with mach punch) Talonflame with Gale wings is a great priority user and can hit hard. Good luck. -
Help with Carbink inside Diamond Domain Main Cave
Purplemauth replied to Jacenralvarn's topic in General Support
Carbink is available In Diamond Domain Main Cave (where you are). You can find it on land all day. It is a very rare pokemon, however, so be prepared to hunt for a while! Good luck. -
Bumping, would like some kind of answer or acknowledgement if possible! Also regarding the NPC-triggered encounters comment, wouldn't that make Safari Zone shiny locked as well then? (it's not)
-
For a suggestion to have merit, and to be considered being added, it needs to improve the quality of life of the players, or fix something. This suggestion - which could potentially be cool - doesn't really fall under either of those categories. I think staff time is better off being used elsewhere. Also, regarding the Battle and ZZZZ tags, both of those tags can be over a player for multiple minutes. Trading takes what, 30 seconds at most? No need for a tag for a quick action.

Dang, what a trainwreck.

That's not how it has to be calculated, Medicham has 284 speed and Weavile 383 at lvl 100 : 284 x 1,5 = 426 > 383 Thanks for your answers, didn't know about that bug. Okay, wasn't totally sure. Good to know.
-
Also, Medicham has base 80 speed, Weavile has base 125. Even with Choice Scarf you wouldn't be going first. 80 x 1.5 = 120 < 125 (unelss I'm calculating this wrong)
-
There is a known bug with choice scarf: Was it something different from this? Otherwise this is known and listed in the PvP rules.

Stop. Your accusations are absolutely ridiculous and wrong. If you have complaints to make, do it in the formal complaint section. You were given a response regarding Regice and it has been confirmed by numerous other people. YOU are the one who is wrong in this situation. Insinuating racism is a giant claim to throw out, especially when you clearly have no idea what racism is. Making a free-to-play game in one language does not make it racist because it's not the language you speak. No one owes you an apology. Go cry somewhere else.

Gyarados is the best. The only thing to watch out for is the Trainer with a banette that has thunder. Garchomp is second best. Snorlax is slow and if you get crit you lose kinda hard.

Crashes due to internet/server/client issues aren't able to be fixed individually. You'll have to wait 12 days (which is the cooldown for bosses) unfortunately.

was told to post here for potential volca wings
Purplemauth replied to Tfa1884's topic in General Support
If you should have gotten wings, you would have got them. Your spinarak would have needed to have over 400 points since it was shiny, and therefore required a different threshold on the scoring chart. Regular pokemon only require 290 points, but since Shiny Pokemon give you 1.5x the points, you need more points to get the wings. I could bore you with the math, but since Spinarak is a Tier 1 rarity pokemon, it is mathematically impossible to get Volcarona wings with a shiny Spinarak. (50+25+186) x 1.5 = 391.5, and that's assuming your Spinarak was 6x31, which it wasn't. Best way to get Volcarona wings is to catch Tier 4 rarity pokemon (Heracross, Scyther, Pinsir, Mothim, Larvesta) and then hope it has over 135 IVs. Good luck in the future! -
There has never, in the history of this game, been a legendary that has been gifted to players. They are always battle-able so that players have the opportunity to try and get the correct nature that they want for the pokemon. Unfortunate as your situation was, Regice is not a game-breaking legendary pokemon that you missed out on. He is arguably quite bad - you can farm pokemon that are more effective than him. In the future, you should expect to have to catch all legendaries that have a quest attached to them. If you can see the level of the pokemon, it usually means they are catchable. If the level is ??? then it is not catchable.

Bump.
