It doesn't actually gives a reward himself, but you need to do as he asks to get one of the 5 questions you need to answer to, to be eligible for the event's rewards! There are 9 spirits hidden on the map, so, according to your sayings, you missed two of them; one of them will probably be one of the three good spirits you're missing :) You can follow the map in the spoiler if you wish!
