I highly agree with this statement.

 

It does impact the pvp aspect as well, and can be abused. Look at Chansey if this was implemented and you caught a godly serene grace Chansey all you have to do is change its ability and poof. Godly pvp poke. Or even Clefable with Cute Charm and Magic Guard. This idea in my own personal opinion only negatively impacts PRO. The only gain is it makes RNG like things less relevant.

 

With the Legendary argument. My defense to that is Legendaries can not be traded. They do not impact PRO outside of PVP/Bosses. They do not impact PRO's economy.

 

In summary, the way I see it the gains for this to be implemented do not outweigh the negatives for this. So, for me its a -1.

think of it this way, if you have a roleplay poke then that isn't an issue but if you don't then I don't see why not paying like 50 PvP coins to change the ability. It really isn't any different than changing IVs on a legendary, which are much more available to players now, and in no way is any close to being as powerful as that. And again, it patches up the problem with Viv getting a random ability because Spewpa has 1 primary while Viv has 2, so u don't know what it's gonna be until u evolve it. That's dumb as hell.

I actually only have one roleplayer, my hunting teams always consist of three pokes (A synch, false swipe, and roleplay) I do this because I choose to. There are of course Synchs that have roleplay with them. They also are pretty cheap for it being a one time cost.

 

I already gave my defense on Legends IV and Nature reroll, but let me say it like this.

 

One) They are not able to be traded. Because they can not be traded they do not make an impact on the Economy of PRO which is already in a decline.

Two) They each have one time quests for them. Most of which require quite a lot of time. (Yes, the mystery ticket will be a thing which is still 100 PVP coins with only a 45% chance of getting 1 of 12 legends?)

Three) Rerolls each cost quite a lot of pokecash for an item that doesn't even 100% give you what you want.

 

This is what I am seeing with your suggestion.

You don't want to take the time to hunt properly, and are asking the staff to change something that is based on RNG.

You also seem to be looking at this very shallowly, and not looking at the other pokemon that can use this for their advantage. Not only in PVP, but the Economy as well.

 

Your suggested Item is in my own personal opinion not balanced, and more OP than any Reroll offered for ONLY NON TRADE-ABLE Legends.

 

Don't get me wrong. I feel for you that it is annoying how that pokemon is RNG based on its ability, but I don't think this suggestion is the right way to go about it.

Yeah, I'm not gonna lie this suggestion of mine is a little selfish, but I tried to bring something to the table rather than just a way to fix the problem with Vivillion, and if I had presented this idea that way I figured it would get ignored because it's just a little thing. I have no qualms hunting the same poke again for a different ability, it's just hunting for an epic compound eyes Vivillion in this game is so unforgiving.

Not going to happen, sorry.
