the shiny in the game is the big porblem. i have been playing the game since 2016 and i have over 1034 Hr and i owned 698 and 348 evo and in this time elieve it or not i got only 1 shiny from spawn (Not including shiny from Boss thor because its the third prize). thay shiny is rattata so i am not happy about the shiny in the game

Shiny rate is the exact same as gen 5 and lower (not gen 6 and up since they actually buffed the shiny rate to half of what it was) This makes shinies extremely rare and worth while to pay millions for good pvp'able shinies.

i see a lot of players with many shiny so i dont think its fair that a player with less houres have more shiny.....my friend didnt play the game over a year and when he got back to the game i a week he got 2 shinys :OshaWAT:

I know what u mean but luck has never been fair. Well unless both of you have each hunted for 10k hours then you can start comparing to see how large the deviation is.

Yea rng can be cruel mistress sometimes, took me 1,800 hours just got 1 t8 shiny. some have it better off then others.

but think about it this way, if you got a high teir shiny it will feel special and unique.

This game has very nice aesthetics and I'm very pleased with the way this turned out,

However

unfortunately I see there is a horrible case of Grinding (not just in game but my patience as well.)

Note : If you are thinking of getting this Game I'd highly suggest reading this, because this is extremely important.

I have had an unfortunate experience with PRO I find that the ability to get Experience is poorly thought out, personally I haven't even gotten past Pewter City Gym.

The reason behind this is that the Team thought it'd be a good idea to have Trainers (which by the way are the main way to efficiently Level Up your Pokemon.)

Can't be battled again FOR 7 DAYS this wouldn't necessarily an issue and is understandable,

However

No one on the team thought it paramount to not have the Trainers fightable again if you lose. So requires me to play extremely carefully, unfortunately I hadn't learned this until it was already too late.

So now I'm left with 2 choices

A. Grind for a estimated time of a Minimum of 1 HOUR per Pokemon on my Team.

B. Wait a FULL WEEK for A CHANCE to Get to an exceptionable Level.

I apologize for the way I may come off as in this review but this seriously bogs down the game and I'd even go so far as to say Red and Blue on the Gameboy were better at making a fair and balanced experience that didn't shortchange people that weren't able to destroy the game out of the gate.

Edit : After I've played through a bit more (Now on Badge 3.) I notice even more issues for example

- Many Implementations being locked behind Badges and it not being clear when I get them (Pokestops, Trade Chats which is only unlocked after the 4th Badge, ect.)

- Critical Hit Rates being way too high leading to me needing to visit the Pokecenter to an absurd degree (and making grinding ever more unfair and hard.)

- Runaway Rates being way too low leading to me needing to visit the Pokecenter to an absurd amount (Yet again contributing to the unfair difficulty.)

- A Sudden Unexplained Jump in Levels in both Trainers and Wild Pokemon from Route 9 to Rock Tunnel (sensing a theme here?)

- Trainer Levels not being clear in Gyms (which doesn't help in trying to get an idea of how much or how little I need to grind.)

- Shops don't evolve for a long time (where as in official games it'd evolve with every badge.) making it hard to get better Pokeballs, and Healing Items

- Unable to switch Pokemon upon knocking the opponents Pokemon Out (This applies to NPC Battles not PVP Battles but is still an issue.)

Pokemon just doesn't fit the MMO style, especially in this poorly thought out state of affairs.

Im not against Grinding in an RPG but this level of Grinding is ridiculous, people can say that I'm complaining too early but if the first impressions are likely to turn me away I highly doubt that the level of improvement will increase.

My rating hasn't changed and isn't likely to improve as I run through the game.

It's still a 3/10.

Just wait until you start playing ranked! :) its far worse. Not all moves are coded, not all items work until you battle in a wild battle first (choice scarf etc.) You'll be paired and I mean WILL BE PAIRED versus someone with 200 MORE rating than you ex: 17 rating vs 238 rating.

Like ?? Hello game? Stats hello?

Welp, going back to Maplestory cya next time, maybe.. probably.. next 2 weeks.. again to cycle through the same matchmaking :^)

I miss Shane.

I trash my shinies or just sell it asap, to me shinies are a waste of time everytime you(anyone) takes a shiny into battle the precious time wasted with the sparkling.. nah man no thanks..

I kinda agree with the OP and i have played through all 4 regions on multiple accounts. 1 tip i would give to every single new player is just to solo each region with the starter water pokemon as using a full team comp will limit how fast you are able to progress. Blastoise can literally solo kanto due to be able to learn dig tm and then you can buy ice beam and earthquake tm's for every other region out there, only ever needing to stop and grind for the rayquaza/deoxy fights.

TLDR: Using more then the starter pokemon actually hampers you with how the experience works in this game.

PS i can speed run kanto in 6 hours, i know what im talking about.

As a reminder for the Deoxy fight you mentioned. You can easily use this method if it's still a thing?

Use a geodude with sturdy and toxic. Usually carry two or three in your party, if the poison effect failed the first or second time.

So it literally doesn't really require much grinding beforehand, besides 12-15 super potions, and 2-3 geodudes with sturdy.

And all you need to do is apply the poison and stall with healing. The most cowardly way, but it worked.

As for the difficulty of the game, it surely does lean a whole lot on grinding more to progress further.

But as you noted, if your game knowledge is great, you can solo an entire region with 1 or two pokes easily, if played correctly.

I'm not sure about the geodude strat as i always use the 5 ariados / sucker punch strat but yeah the game is a lot easier if you only use the starter water pokemon.

Literally feeling all this same stuff, and it's years later. This game feels like an endless grind, that it's more frustrating than actually fun to play. At this point i'm nearly done with Kanto and can not imagine myself doing this same thing over in a different region. So much feels broken about the game that the play experience just isn't enjoyable.
