You got over a month to register, that's more than enough to get Pokemon, it doesn't matter if you have lower iv'd pokemon as long as the strategy is right. Some of us who dont now have the time to be playing long enough to make a team from hunting (some of us who didnt even have the time during the first tournament). Most pokemon top tier pokemon are ER. Not every person on the server has milions of cash to buy the best Poke out there. It's obvious that winners would be players that are/were the richest and bought all their Pokes.
