Rain team is pretty much the meta atm. As for strong leads you have, staraptor (counters other prominent leads such as machamp/breloom and intimidate makes it easier to switch out of weavile or azumaril) Machamp (counters weavile and most other pokemon that can't ohko are usually forced out, meaning something else has to eat a stab dynamic punch while also being inflicted by confuse) Weavile (besides fairy / fighting / dark / steel types, everything else pretty much dies to a 6 party beat-up. Extremely difficult to switch into as well and is probably the reason why most ppl start with machamp / breloom / azumaril ) Breloom (spore. Nuff said. Though Mach punch to kill weavile helps too) Azumaril (hits very hard and is fairly tanky. Access to knock off and superpower round off its coverage.) Besides these you do see clefable (stealth rock/toxic/twave) / skarmory (hazards) / politoed / ninetales a fair amount as well. Ttar fell off with the rise of staraptor / azumaril / champ / breloom and scizor is usually saved to sweep later (both of these were prominent earlier on in the game) As for physical sweepers you have gyara / scizor / dragon thanks to ddance and swords dance. Other boosters such as cloy / lucario / gallade are too situational in my own opinion. The fact that all 3 common physical sweepers take at least 3 attacks after a boost to take out skarmory, make it one of the preferred physical tanks ( though Donphan and bold milotic with dragon tail deserves a mention too) As for special sweepers, I can't see anything besides kingdra, ludicolo and to a much lesser extent omastar (shell smash in rain hurts like hell :|) the lack of a calm mind or nasty plot tm and not working psyshock is probably why we are limited to rain team sweepers. This also means that special wall of special walls blissey is unmatched in its role atm. Water absorb jellicient deserves a mention though (it's hard to get), being a spin blocker with access to toxic and recover makes it specially annoying... I'd say lapels to a lesser extent as well, but it's weakness to stealth rock makes it hard to use once the opponent knows you have it. Hope thy gives you a better idea :| I've only mentioned the prominent pokemon you see nowadays. PRO does have so many more viable pokemon and even the prominent ones have move sets that can take you completely by surprise and en decide a battle.

this isnt going to help you much at all.. while we do have boosters to sweep scizor is walled by gyara and skarm and cloy is hardly used. Toxic stallers are the real problem right now... there was a post with pro's "OU", "uu" etc pokemon, i just cant find it now lol... could have sworn it was in general talk section.

there have been several rumors floating around.... from what ive heard i think its safe to say that top 15 will be awarded, though i also a heard a fair amount of ppl say that top 25 will be awarded. As to what the wards are, i dont know. Again i heard that the top ranked battler may be awarded a masterball and exclusive deco :| all only speculation, dont quote me ppl....

are u sure it has been 5 days? i can usually battle elite after 3 days and the other one after 2 days...

Focus sash not working. No choice band afaik. Dunno is gengar learns sludge bomb itself, we have no tm/tutor otherwise. Also, destiny bond is not working. No focus blast tm/tutor, shadow ball no longer obtainable blunts kazams use greatly. Even with all those items, scizor is set up bait for gyara, who can sweep your team after 2 (maybe one) ddance. Even with focus sash on aero you are still going to take a lot of dmg. Rain kingdra will also sweep this team without any issues, both of these being very common battlers currently.

You havent really stated a question, but both cases can be done. I generally try and kill a high lvl pokemon (irrespective of the evs i want) in order to gain some lvls so that ev training will be easier. Once i've gained a satisfactory lvl i use a berry or two to remove any unwanted evs i may have gained and proceed with ev training the ones i want, after which i start lvling to lvl 100.

That said, to somewhat compensate for the lack of breeding the game has implemented a 50% chance of synchronize working (which is much more than the norm). So if you have an adamant sync as your party lead, the pokemon you encounter has a 50% chance of being adamant as well.

As far as i understand it, if both battlers have similar points u get win/lose 16 points. That is the base, from there the points awarded and lost depends on the difference. With 500 points i win 2 point for defeating anyone with less than 150 points while i lose 30 points if i am defeated by such a person. I get around 10 points for defeating ppl with 300-400 range ppl while loosing around 20 points when i lose. Just my observations so far. EDIT:there are no win streak bonuses.

At the moment the meta is based on water teams and toxic stall tanks (without protect). Water teams will always have a toed and kingdra while most also run gyarados or floatzel as a physical sweeper. Some teams also have ludicolo / kabutops / ormastar. As for countering these, blissey / roserade are good special walls that i myself have found difficult to deal with. Milotic does exceptionally well with a bold set as it counters both gyara and kingdra. Spedef Snorlax also deserves a mention as most dont want to risk their sweepers getting paralyzed by stab body slam. As for toxic stallers we have milotic / jellicient / blissey / skamory / umbreon / roserade / venusaur. All of these are extremely difficult to deal with unless you have the particular counters (electivire for milo, etc). I suppose you could say taunt would leave most of these threats pointless, but by backing them up with beat up weavile or something like breloom makes such teams very difficult to deal with. Just what i've seen after a fair amount of pvp games :)

To compensate for the lack of breeding the game has improved on how synchronize works. The wild pokemon you encounter have a 50% chance of having the same nature as that of your synchronize pokemon who is the first in your party. As for competitiveness, we do have iv's (obviously) as well as EV training. Not all abilities and moves work though, and neither do we have a lot of necessary tms, but still I feel that we have enough for a satisfactorily competitive environment. It's still not easy to to acquire truly competitive pokemon as well considering hidden abilities, natures, iv's,etc. believe me, the story line is simply an obstacle slowing down your time to jump into the competitive scene :3

gyarados / arca / umbreon / espeon dont remember the other 2 they didnt do much :| all lvl 70

you cant expect ppl to run honch on their teams to counter one single pokemon that is op due to the short comings of the game it self... that said, just get a poison/grass type and breloom cant do <insert appropriate explicit here>. dunno if spore effects grass types here though...
-
Unfortunately players are never going to abide by these until the game itself enforces it upon them... i would like to know the staff's stance on the abuse of broken moves though, such as sky attack / block / wrap...

skarmory. rocky helmet. roost. sturdy. nuff said

What stats / nature / ability / moveset a pokemon requires all comes down to its pvp viability. Lets take vulpix for example (i.e, ninetales.) Ninetales has only one use in competitive battling and that is it ability to summon sun light upon switching in (weather effects certain abilities of pokemon and certain moves too, its not only for ninatales that the sun light is used...) So clearly, drought is a far better ability than flash fire for tales. After that you look at stats and nature. Ninetales is a fairly fast pokemon that utilizes speed and average sp atk. It doesnt use its atk stat at all, so even if that was 0, it wouldnt matter. This also means that when selecting a nature for tale you always go with one that reduces atk in consequence. Since tales has decent spd, the preferred nature is timid, to try and maximize its spd. Modest would be a decent alternative to increase tales' damage output. If you see vulpix/tales with all these traits, you can expect it to cost a lot more than an exact same tales with flash fire instead of drought. Like wise 2 tales with exactly the same stats except different natures, say one being timid and the other calm, the timid one would be worth a lot more. hope that helps.

from a scale of 0 to 10, 10 being the highest, you are 10. You actually found a shiny.

Expecting the system to tell us whether a pokemon is epic or not is just stupid in my opinion... If u see a pokemon with certain ivs / natures / ability, judge or yourself how good/bad you think it is. If you dont think the sellers price is worth it, then ignore it. I see so many in trade chat telling others "your pokemon isnt epic". If u dont think its epic, dont buy it. its as simple as that. Why does everyone want to be spoonfed?

What are the strongest and most used PvP Pokemon in PRO ?
Irafayel replied to Raidraptor's topic in PvP
I'll give you a list of the pokemoni think are used fairly often ingame at the momet. In no particular order, Weavile Weavile is so commonly used simply because of beat up. With 6 poke still alive in a party beat up does ridiculously high dmg usually knocking out any non resistant poke that faces it. Even scizor with its high def cannot safely switch into a beat 100% of the time (though 1 bullet punch from an ada technician scizor will ohko weavile). Even def tanks like skarm and forretress can barely take 2, 6-poke beat ups to the face. Add to this the fact that weavile is also an extremely good counter to the commonly used dragons and u have a highly over-used pokemon. The best counters to weavile atm are tyranitar / machamp / scizor (clefable / azumaril do a decent job too). Scizor Weaviles popularity plays apart in scizor being commonly used to. Technician bullet punch is probably the best and safest way to take one down. Besides that, scizor is capable of dishing out huge amounts of dmg after just one swords dance while also attacking first thanks to it having access to bullet punch as well as quick attack. Commonly u will see scizor run swords dance / bullet punch / super power / x-scizor. But it also has access to knock off / quick attack / wing attack / pursuit which are all useful in certain situations and provide that unpredictability element to scizor. One of the common counters to scizor is gyara (specially with intimidate). The usual scizor move set would leave it as easy boost bate but if scizor does happen to have wing attack, quick attack or even pursuit, it is capable of severely damaging even gyara. Scizor is easily countered by fire poke though, most notably chandelure with shadow tag atm. Machamp No-guard machamp is probably the most annoying pokemon for me to face atm. 100% accurate Dynamic punch is simply over powered lol. You usually want to switch a def tank into a machamp, but even then you are almost certainly going to end up being confused as a result of dynamic punch, and you probably wont have a lum berry on your tank to get rid of it. Machamps access to the elemental punches along with knock off make it an extremely difficult foe to deal with it even when u have a flying type to counter it. Common counters to machamp are donphan / skarmory /chandelure (champ can ohko gengar with knock off and gyara with tpunch even after intimidate). Gyarados Most definitely the premier physical sweeper atm, beating scizor simply because it counters scizor by have resistances against its common move set. a +1 or 2 gyara so difficult to deal with. The best answer is probably lapras though many battlers try to use their own gyara to counter opponent ones utilizing intimidate (gyaras used to counter gyara usually have evs invested in def rather than hp which makes it a safer method to counter gyara). Water absorb lapras with tbolt is a sure way though. But one must be wary of a possible motor drive electivire lying in wait for that tbolt against gyara. Besides these 2 multiscale drago with either tbolt or thunder punch works too. I find that most physical walls cant take more than boosted aqua tails either so. Snorlax A wide plethora of moves makes snorlax a tricky foe to deal with. Snorlax can be built to just do dmg, act as a sp def wall or even take physical hits reasonably well. You can never know if your opponents lax is running one of the elemental punches or possibly crunch / earthquake. Access to counter / rain dance / reflect and such moves rounds off snorlaxs unpredictability and general difficulty to bring down. Most ada fighting type poke can ohko a snorlax though, even with evs invested in def. If lax doesnt have the proper moves it can also be set up on by gyara or scizor as well which makes using one a little tricky. Machamp / gallade / lucario are safe counters to lax. Clefable / Azumaril I dont use either of these poke much so i cant tell you just how good and useful they are but they are commonly used and are both capable of taking out entire teams on their own. Magic guard doesnt work yet but still clefable holds its own with softboiled + cosmic power which can escalate quickly into an unkillable situation if not dealt with quick enough. Azumaril can be extremely difficult to switch into due to huge power while azumaril itself can switch into most situations owing to its decent bulk and fairy typing. As of late rain teams have gained prominence and you will see a lot of politoeds / kingdras along with a few other swift swimmers. As a result blissey is commonly used a lot to counter these as well while forrestress / skarmory / donphan are common physical walls that most teams run. Hope that helps. -
sry guys been a little busy these days... ill update bos the moment i get a chance to.
