If only Magic Bounce Espeon worked, it'll be a lot of lolz with Baton pass XD

I guess some items such as Assault vest and Choice items (which have been implemented but removed) will eventually be added, as well as Life orb since a lot of players have requested for it. They will probably be purchasable with PvP coins.

Use a defensive ev spread with 252 HP, 148 Defense and 108 Sp Def. With a negative speed nature, it will fail to outspeed keys threats such as invested Breloom, Bisharp or Dragonite so running speed ev isn't worth considering. As for its moveset, Taunt is mandatory for stallbreaking since it can still outspeed Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Slowbro, Blissey or Snorlax and will prevent them from healing/setting up, WoW for spreading burns and taking physical hits better, Softboiled as a recovery move and Knock off for removing your opponent's item. Btw, the tag to insert an image is and, not [image] and [/image]

You have indeed 5% chance finding a pokemon with its h.a and there is no other way to increase your odds, except maybe by prayers Your first modest Vulpix is really nice, seems like hard work pays off

I have faced the same problem with this hibiscus. If you have a second hat, switch the flower with it will remove it from your character. It's indeed an annoying bug and only happens with the hibiscus, other hats work just fine.

Unfortunately, staff cannot undo an evolution or roll back your pokemon level. Though I suppose now is no time for "I told you so" speech, always evolve your pokemon at lvl 96-97 to avoid such inconvenience.

If its Natural cure like 99% of blisseys in PRO its not illegal but.... Well in other Pokemon-battle simulations u can see this cause u get notifcation in any form of the current status of opponents pokes, even if they switch out. Since thats the case there is no rule-additition in other pokemon-games. In PRO Natural-Cure pokes keep their status-change until they switch-in and as the Natural-Cure opponent u have no idea if its nat cure or not until it switches back in. I feel its kinda grey area and can be abused by potential natural cure Pokes. (Like "Haha, im using illuminate starmie u fool, now i screenshot it and report u hahahaha, rekt") I already asked the same question in Report section tbh but sadly didnt get an answer. Im curious tho too and would like to see a clear addition to the rules about this. Exactly :y: Btw, i believe you don't get any notification in the official games about natural cure's activation as well (VGC doesn't care about sleep clause lol). It only happens on showdown afaik
-
Technically, it is legal since Blissey's natural cure has been activated the moment she switches out. But your opponent isn't supposed to know what ability your Blissey is running (since Serene grace/Healer on Blissey will break sleep clause) unless you have revealed it.
-
This guy must have some evil mind to consider this strategy, i wonder how he's got that brillant idea xD Fly should indeed have increased priority on both turns so it's clearly a bugged move in that case
-
As SugarRed says, it takes your opponent 3 turns to set up 3 layers of spikes + 1 turn to lay down rocks whereas you can remove all of them with only one single use of rapid spin/defog. So no, it's not broken at all.
-
Make sure you have at least 71 evolutions in your pokedex And for gardevoir, moonblast is not in its moveset yet
-
Speed boost is implemented even if there is no text message but don't worry, you actually gain +1 in speed each turn.
-
I guess that people who spent weeks or millions farming for a h.a Gothitelle (or Blaziken) won't enjoy them to be banned for obvious reasons. And to answer you, yes, i actually have a speed boost Blaziken but i promise that i won't get mad if it will be banned in the future (but that's just me ^^) "Is staff competent enough"? You're really looking for trouble aren't you? xD Seriously, you do have a point, it's very hard to decide who is competent enough to vote. On smogon, only players who have achieved a certain rank on the ladder may vote but PRO is not smogon and should not become a smogon-like. I mean, if i want to play exactly with smogon terms, why am i still here? I should go back on showdown instead. So yes, i'll be honest, just like you i don't really have an answer to your question and i don't think anyone has a proper one. You're right stating that

Because T-Wave enables Goth to neutralize offensive threats since a paralysed dragon dancer or sweeper which relies on its speed is no longer dangerous. Want to see how it fares against a Gyarados as an example? Even without trick, a paralysed Gyarados can easily be pick off by a teammate. https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-270457032 But signal beam is a good coverage move on it though. Some Goth players should give it a try to take on dark types. With the implementation of U-turn and Volt switch, it is easier for her to switch in so we already have tools to build around and support Gothitelle, making her dangerous even for offensive teams. Allow me to get off-topic a bit : the thing is it's clearly impossible to satisfy everyone. When it comes to a ban, no matter the final decision is, there will be dissatisfied players among pro or con. As far as i'm concerned, Hoopa Unbound was my favorite wallbreaker so i let you imagine how disappointed i was when smogon council has decided to ban it, even if it has major flaws (thin paper physical defense and mediocre speed). But hey, the majority has voted for a ban so i had to abide by the rules. Imo a vote is a fair way to determine the fate of a suspect pokemon. If most players votes for a ban, then it should be banned and vice versa. The majority has voted for it to remain? Then so be it.
-
Well, i have to admit that i can't see the fun in using a stall team either, unless you love to spend hours on one battle. It's like winning/laddering at all cost but it's a bit off-topic It is indeed a correct overview of the debate
-
i agree what Eli say, most of the guys who are crying about gothi are staller players, or those sort of pokes. and , tbh gothi can get rekt by a lots of poke ;) Actually, the only guys i've seen crying so far are those who desperately need Goth to stay in order to deter people from running stall teams. I mean, i really hate stall, it's boring as f*ck and nobody really enjoys spending one hour on a battle full of recover/roost/heal beal/defog/regenerator. But hey, it's an official playstyle (btw, stall teams can still be beaten w/o broken mon or abilities, the top ladder on showdown is dominated by balanced or offensive oriented teams), with this type of reasoning, why not allowing things like Primal Groudon or Arceus to completely make sure that no stall teams will be able to withstand you? Yeah, it's an excessive example, i concede that but i was just showing that these words can be taken for something like "stall is evil so everything that can destroy it is welcomed". Personnaly, i don't care if Goth gets banned or not. Sure it is strong but without the scarf and trick, it is not totally broken. It's just the "i hate stall, i don't want to fight stall so i want it to stay just to deny this playstyle" argument which bugs me a bit even if i can't stand stall teams likewise. But i will also be partial. With the lack of choice items and life orb atm, breaking through full stall team can be a real pain since you clearly miss some wallbreaking potential. So i can understand why some of you want it to remain. In fact, Gothitelle cannot do anything to Sableye since it only runs Psychic/Psyshock as an offensive move (Calm mind, Rest, Thunder wave, Psychic/Psyshock) so yes, any dark type will counter it. You can drop T-Wave for a coverage move but it will suffer at setting up and at resting without the help of paralysis on Blissey. It's hard to disagree with this. ;)

The main difference between Azumarill/Dragonite/Talonflame/Drill and Goth is that you can switch your counter immediatly on them. For instance, if you see a D-nite, Excadrill or Talonflame, you can send your Hippowdon or your Skarmory as it's dragon dancing/swords dancing and it will be forced out next turn (unless it is a lure Dragonite with special moves). Same thing goes for BD Azumarill, switch Tentacruel, Venusaur, Amoonguss, or Gyarados on it the turn it tries to setup and you will leave it in a awkward position. With Goth, maybe you have a Hippowdon or a Scizor in your team to beat it. But the problem is... you simply cannot bring them on the battlefield unless you manage to predict its switch in (which is nearly impossible due to no team preview). Well, i do agree that without trick and choice scarf, Goth is far less dangerous than it used to be on showdown. And i think it's funny how Goth fares well against stall team while it is mostly seen on stall teams to serve as a means of beating opposing stalls by removing their cleric/spinner. Blaziken is definitely more dangerous than Gothitelle though. Imo it should be suspected before her.
-
How are you supposed to counter a pokemon if you cannot switch on it? Gothitelle's role is not to be able to 6-0 a team but to get rid of your opponent's walls so a teammate can easily clean up late-game after their counters are gone. With the lack of team preview, you won't be able to even anticipate its switch in so it is basically a free trap for it. Commons walls or backbones of balanced/stall teams such as Blissey, Lanturn, Politoed or Clefable are all trapped and killed by Goth and once they're gone, you lost your counters/checks to many threats which are now free to sweep. Sure, some walls are able to defend themselves, especially those you can phaze it out like Skarmory or Hippowdon and it is not that strong against offensive team but i can comprehend why some players want to, at least, suspect it just like smogon did. Strategy in pokemon is based on predictions and switching but shadow tag just prevent it, which can be seen as gamebreaking. Just to add on to what Einheria said a lot of pokemon like skarmory and hippowdon can utilize whirlwind to force the gothielle to switch out. Whirlwind/roar breaks shadow tag by forcing gothielle to switch, and upon switching gothielle loses all calm mind stacks. I notice a lot of pvpers have a lack of creativity in this game, and we need to learn to play smarter not harder. Yes but unfortunately, not all pokemon can run whirlwind or roar (and no Goth will try to set up on a Skarm because it knows every Skarm has whirlwind). As far as i hate Blissey, let's consider this example to demonstrate the power of Goth (you can replace Blissey with Clefable or Quagsire, the results will be the same): - Your opponent has a Gengar against you. - You switch on your Blissey to take its Shadow ball or whatever - Your opponent switches on Goth as you cannot predict it because there is no team preview - Your Blissey is dead, you can't do anything about it, you lost your best answer to Gengar which can now go all-out on you, not even mentioning that you have a +6 Goth in front of you There are many examples like this. You can be the best player in the world, you'll never be able to anticipate a Goth switch in since you don't even know if your opponent is running it or not. So unless you want to build a special team around countering Gothitelle with back up solutions and phazers all around if it kills your main wall, it is very strong and hinders teambuilding.

Actually, there are so many variants of mixed Ttar set coming from the infamous Tyraboah set from 3G. You can play it whatever you want according to your needs and your playstyle. Naive, relaxed, quiet, lonely, even modest are all usable, i just gave one of these sets as example. Imo, you don't really need to ohko a Skarmory since it will take enough damage from Crunch/SE on its switch-in to fall into KO range next turn. But it you really want to 1hko it for good measure, you are free to run a + sp atk nature. If Scizor isn't a problem, you can use a - speed nature with HP EV to retain some bulk. You can even run Blizzard if you prefer sheer power (and being able to 2hko Hippowdon unless it misses) over accuracy or Superpower if Blissey is a pain to deal with. Something like : Tyranitar @ Leftovers Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 178 HP / 80 Atk / 252 SpA Quiet Nature - Stone Edge/Superpower - Fire Blast - Crunch/Dark Pulse - Ice Beam/Blizzard 252+ SpA Tyranitar Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Skarmory: 282-334 (84.4 - 100%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock 252+ SpA Tyranitar Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 324-384 (92 - 109%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock 252+ SpA Tyranitar Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Hippowdon: 198-234 (47.1 - 55.7%) -- 76.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery 252+ SpA Tyranitar Ice Beam vs. 244 HP / 200+ SpD Gliscor: 316-376 (89.7 - 106.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock 80 Atk Tyranitar Stone Edge vs. 4 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 268-316 (41.1 - 48.4%) -- 74.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock, sandstorm damage, and Leftovers recovery 80 Atk Tyranitar Crunch vs. 252 HP / 232+ Def Slowbro: 164-194 (41.6 - 49.2%) -- 80.1% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock, sandstorm damage, and Leftovers recovery There are also others EV spreads depending on your needs, it is up to you and your priorities, just pick/find the spread that will suit your team best. Same thing as Tyranitar, you are free to run speed EV if you deem it to be useful. Outspeeding positive-natured base 80 speed is mandatory for your team? Then run a jolly nature with 48 speed EV, it will also work as well. You want even more speed to be able to outspeed Salamence or Garchomp? Then just run 208 speed EV. It only depends on the role you want it to fulfill. Btw, Monferno is a PU pokemon on smogon and it often runs a attacking set with eviolite. Defensive Infernape has a real niche in the OU metagame thanks to its typing, as illustrated in this replay. Of course, i am aware that OU metagame is completely different from PRO metagame but it proves that Nape is able to tank some decent hits. https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/ou-289246602 And for Lucario, did you really expect it to have no counters like an uber? No matter the set it runs, it will always have some counters (Hippowdon is the best counter to every version of Luke). Just saying that it could be annoying for a heavy offense team to face an Agility Lucario since they struggle against faster threats. But i do agree that it isn't its best set (the swords dance set is, no doubt). Once again, these are just examples, not commons or fixed sets that you can just import/export without reflexion like a standard all-out attacker reckless Staraptor who doesn't have many other options. Innovatives or gimmicky sets means that you are free to adapt them to your needs and the role you want your pokemon to achieve. That's why i have suggested to discuss about them since they are all perfectible. As i said, there are so many options and there are all usable. If recovery moves or Skarmory are a real problem for your team, of course you can drop an attack and run Taunt with some speed investment (but i prefer to strike it directly with Fire blast instead of wasting a turn to taunt it. I don't think taunt is a good idea since it will force Skarm out and you will miss your chance at Fire blasting it off guard). You can even try a pure specially oriented set with modest nature and Fire blast/Ice beam/Dark pulse/Thunderbolt to deal with Tyranitar's classic counters. Of course, Blissey or Snorlax will wall it to no end but no one will switch Blissey on it unless you reveal your entire moveset. It's all up to you to find the better alternative EV spread/moveset for your team.

Hi! I have created this thread to talk about less-common and underrated sets we can choose to run on our pokemon. If standard sets are no doubt strong, their main drawback is that everybody will anticipate them and know how to deal with them. So how about we share our creative but quite effective movesets? An innovative set should work effectively, pulls off a real role and not be totally outclassen by standards sets/other pokemon. For instance, a special Gyarados with Fire blast, thunderbolt, Surf and Ice beam is obviously lame since its sp atk and speed stats are mediocre, will never be as strong as the dragon dance set and plenty of pokemon like Starmie will pull a similar set more efficiently. OK, let me start by showcasing some examples that i found useful to lure and surprise your opponent. Tyranitar is one of the best and overused pokemon. With a high attack stat and great defenses, it is often used as a hazard setter or a physical attacker (bulky or dragon dance variants). Unfortunately, it can't hope break through the toughest physical walls like Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Scizor, Hippowdon and Gliscor which all wall it to no end thanks to their type and defenses. To add insult to injury, they are all able to set up spikes/swords dance on it or simply hit it super effectively with Earthquake. So i come with a mixed Tyranitar set to lure them and destroy them since it has a very usable sp atk stat and movepool. Tyranitar @ Leftovers (since expert belt isn't coded yet) Ability: Sand Stream EVs: 164 Atk / 100 SpA / 244 Spe Naive Nature - Stone Edge - Fire Blast - Crunch - Ice Beam With this mixed set, Tyranitar can effectively lure its most common counters and strike them down with its special moves. Skarmory, Scizor and Ferrothorn are roasted by Fire blast and Hippowdon/Gliscor/Garchomp are obliterated by Ice beam. Its speed positive nature and ev is to make sure that it will outspeed every wall, including non invested Gliscor. If offensive dragon dance are common on Gyarados, it stuggles to get past walls with whirlwind like Skarmory. The opponent will also try to paralyse, burn, toxic it to hinder its effectiveness so a more defensive set could be the solution. Gyarados @ Leftovers EVs: 156 HP / 72 Atk / 96 Def / 184 Spe Adamant Nature - Dragon Dance - Taunt - Waterfall - Crunch/Bounce Thanks to Taunt, it can use Skarmory or Ferrothorn as set-up fodder since they are unable to whirwind it for the former or thunderwave/leech seed it for the latter. It can also check plenty of physical threats like Talonflame, Lucario, Machamp without Thunderpunch or Scizor thanks to intimidate and decent defenses while retaining offensive presence even without max atk investment. Wile looking at Infernape, it is typically your standard glasscannon. Hits hard on both side of the spectrum and fast, it is also very frail. It may seem odd to run a defensive set on it but its amazing dual type is a boon to check a good amount of common pokemon as Clefable, Ferrothorn, Weavile, Bisharp, Scizor or even Tyranitar who are annoying for balanced teams. Infernape @ Leftovers Ability: Iron Fist EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD Impish Nature - Will-O-Wisp - Slack Off - Taunt - Fire Punch Thanks to quick recovery, Infernape can easily switch on dark/steel/dug/fairy type indefinitely. It doesn't stop there though as many of Infernape's common counters, such as Hippowdon, Donphan, Azumarill and Gyarados, are heavily crippled by Wow on their switch-in. Taunt will prevent Clefable and Ferrothorn from healing, setting up calm mind/hazards or using thunder wave. Even without any investment in attack, Fire punch still has decent damage output thanks to stab and iron fist. Lucario @ Black Belt Ability: Justified EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe Adamant Nature - Close Combat - Swords Dance - Crunch - Agility Lucario usually runs its swords dance set as its flagship since DPP with Extremespeed as priority. Unfortunately, without life orb, ES fails to KO faster threats, even at +2 so why not dropping it and use both SD and Agility with a double dance moveset instead? Set up with swords dance on stall teams or with agility on offensive teams and Lucario will always have a good match-up. Close combat and Crunch have good synergy, as only the rare Heracross resists them both. To conclude, there is always room for creativity, despite the lack of moves, abilities and items, non-coded yet. The fact is certain infrequently used sets can be proven effective to catch your opponent off-guard as getting off the beaten track can be a good way of gaining the upper hand in a battle. If you are running some uncommon sets to surprise pokemon that normally counter the usual sets and wish to share/discuss it with others, feel free to drop them.

Definitely Sylveon. H.a will give it the op Pixilate ability and a calm nature is also a boon for it.
